Please help me design my small accessible/universal designed bathroom
Comments (4)Contractors do not design. They build. You need an actual K&B designer. You have a very restrictive space to get all that you want without turning it into a wet room. You, and your husband especially, need to educate yourself on modern waterproofing systems and how a wet room is properly created. The Schluter system will offer a lifetime warranty if their products are used from start to finish, including their thinset. Look at their YouTube channel. And don’t be so sure that your choice tractor can actually do this properly. Especially if he hasn’t had the wetroom and waterproofing conversation with you. Read below, and have a tough conversation with him on all points raised. https://www.ceramictilefoundation.org/homeowners-guide-to-hiring-qualified-tile-installer...See MoreHelp with design, please! (Office space, maybe?)
Comments (30)That's what I was going to say, RL. There is too much open space right now that is being wasted, IMO. Bring the sofa toward the entry by about four(?) feet, so it is more lined up with the island and see if you can't bring it a little closer to the island (one foot?). Everything seems to be jammed into a small space, which the whole room isn't. Plus, the end of the sofa is jammed up against the entertainment center, which makes it unusable for TV watching. I think you might be surprised by how much these minor tweaks will open up the space. Oh, and also center the TV center on the wall. You could probably put a smallish desk on the side wall and still have room to put art on the left of the entertainment center. And yes, have the front legs of the sofa on the edge of the rug in both directions. A ficus tree would probably do well in that right corner, as it does not require direct sunlight....See MoreNeed help designing my living room to make it feel as its own space.
Comments (6)To start no TV above that FP and IMO getting rid of that big entertainment center will free up that wall for a wall mount TV above a lower cabinet and if you want to add some display maybe look at IKea Besta for some cool ideas . Get a sofa and either place it facing the TV or the FP depending on how you watch TV then see how much space you have for chairs. I really dislike sectionals for seating IMO poor for conversation and only 2 people get arm rests which IMO means 2 people are comfortable like a sofa except you paid double....See MoreNeed help with my entry space please!!!
Comments (4)First, I'd trim out the front door with casing to make it more finished looking. Shall I assume that was removed during your kitchen remodel? If so, call the contractor back to finish the door. As for the space between the door and the counter, as well as the plant/mirror area near the stairs, I'd get large framed pieces of art. Because you have a French-inspired hood for your range, maybe vintage French posters would be fun. Something like these, perhaps?...See Moresuzyq53
