I'm switching to plastic, resin or whatever when my ceramic ones break, but I haven't broke one in a while. I've not bought from this company yet, but they seem to have a great selection.

I can find lots of plastic pots, but it's much harder to find nice looking ones.

Some stores also reduce their inventory for the fall/winter season, making it even harder.

Have you ever checked out the "death row" racks at BBSs like Lowes or HomeDepot? There are times you can get a decent pot for a buck from such a rack because they've already succeeded in killing of the original occupant. This was one such purchase:

For that matter, visit some thrift/second hand stores like Salvation Army or Goodwill. While there is no guarantee as to what one will find at such places, if they do have something which appeals to you, it will be far cheaper than what stores offer. Furthermore, if approached with the right frame of mind, you can find items which can be repurposed as pots. I have a number of ceramic pots that did not start out life that way. All it took was a diamond drill bit and some patience to turn them on to a new line of "work". These first two were originally bowls:

While my tastes obviously run more toward ceramic pots when looking for decorative verse purely functional pots, the ideas still hold true for plastic pots.

Also try moving sales and freecycle.

Nothing like a death row rack in the Home Depot by me. They toss a lot of plants and much of their inventory is serviced by the vendors. The churn is pretty remarkable.

As to the original question, its hard to say without knowing what you want. There's a ton of plastic stuff at a Dollar store by me. Drill holes in the bottom. I bought a couple of different strainers and a couple oil drain pans for getting stuff potted - $4 - everything's a buck!
