Yet another wedding attire question
Comments (22)This has been a really interesting thread! I agree that the most practical solution for your husband would be to just buy him a nice pair of medium gray dress slacks to wear with his navy blazer. Those, worn with a dress shirt and conservative tie would be great, IMO. As a matter of fact , we're heading to a "formal dress" (church ) wedding and then outdoor reception in Austin, TX, in mid-June. DD is a bridesmaid. I will most likely wear a LBD with some statement jewelry of some sort. DH, who always dresses appropriately and elegantly, will wear one of his nicer sports coats and a pair of dress slacks. Probably light or medium gray (lol). I've been told a thousand times over the years that DH looks just like one of those "Marlboro Men" (minus the cigarette). He does, but he also knows how to dress gorgeously for any occasion....See MoreWedding guest outfits rant and plea for help
Comments (56)More random ranting: LOL Robo about the WASP weddings. There's a bit of WASP vs ethnic and also introvert vs extrovert going in my relationship with SO. I am however, half WASP, really waspy WASP, (as in Anglo Saxon protestant, not Teutonic protestant) so I am used to some of the restraint, to say the least . . . :) I also found out that the color for the wedding is not "red" per se, rather it is crimson, so the shirt/tie combo I liked will have to go back regardless. On the plus side, with a light grey shirt, the suit and shirt will also pass for our wedding, so that will save us some money from having to buy two shirts. I only suggested the red shirt combo because it was on super sale. Here's a photo so you can see what I was envisioning with SO's dark coloring. Surprisingly, SO liked the flouncy floral dresses, particularly the one with the grey background. He thought they would be flattering for my figure. He opined, not without merit, that an a-line dress might be too form-fitting and emphasize my less-than-perfectly-proportional hips. Possibly not, but only trying on will tell. I think I will order all three dresses....See MoreMexican wedding attire?
Comments (68)1929Spanish, not sure what you mean? Raven, I think the shipping was about a week? Jterri, I bought two things. Mine i like. I wore it to dinner last night and one of my DD asked where i got the dress because she thought it looked rather expensive. Go figure. The dress I bought for my other DD we are both on the fence about. We thought it was like men's shirting material but it is not, it is more polyester-y. Still deciding if we will return it. DLM, i like that dress but look at the center slit! ETA I just looked at her dress again. The site says cotton but it does not look or feel like cotton to me. I looked but cannot find a tag with the material or with the care instructions. Went and looked at my dress again, same thing. So just be on notice. Will let you know how the return process progresses....See MoreMore wedding guest attire...
