Previously, I was told I could have samples re-tinted to the next color down as long as they use the same base. Today when they tried, it came out wonky. One guy asked the other for how to fix it. They were going to change some percentage of something, then they said that they could only do that on quarts. I was kind of stuck. The guy that seems to be a shift manager, or something like that, said that he advises people not to go with the little samples, but to go for quarts instead because they CAN do the percentage thing with them. I said that I've already spent a small fortune on samples for the few projects I have going and if I'd done quarts, I'd have run out of money for any actual paint. I said I was disappointed because it seems that every color has been significantly lighter/whiter than what's on the card. He ended up giving me a quart with the new, darker tint. It's ALOT darker. The colors, from left to right are: Silver Spruce Lighthouse Thawed Out Silver Spruce (wanted to see SS with each compared to each of the other colors) I'm thinking of telling them to mix 50/50 or something like that. Thawed out is too light. Silver Spruce is too dark. (Although in the dark corner of the room, it doesn't seem dark. I'm still leaning towards the blue color for everything but the closet, door, doorframe, and ceiling. Still happy to get your thoughts pro and con for that idea.

I am a bit confused...are you going to paint your stucco?We have a bit of stucco on our house but when I picked the color I didnt go to a paint store, the stucco already came in the color I choose. One thing I do know is pick a color a bit darker than you think, being outside the color gets washed out. I am happy with the color now I have, but wasnt quite what I had in my mind.

I think a shade of green would look great with the brick and roof colors. Check out Sherwin Williams mountain road.....it is a green with a lot of greige/beige in it. I would consider SW loggia siding with SW mountain road shutters, and a darker color for the front door, such as SW porpoise. SW porpoise

The picture of your garage looks like the best representation of the brick. It looks mostly brown/taupe. It is not unattractive. Maybe you're just tired of it? I rarely recommend painting brick - only if it's truly ugly. Painting brick turns it from a no maintenance surface to a surface requiring maintenance - once you paint it you will have to repaint it when the paint wears down. Whether painting it would reduce its value is a question for a real estate agent, but personally I would never buy a painted brick house and I don't think I am the only one who would feel that way. I am also really over the white house with black windows look. Your inspiration photos tell me you wish you had a different house. :-) All of those colors are cool colors that wouldn't look good with the brick. The eaves on the garage look gray. If they were closer to a color found in the brick and you painted the garage door the same color I think that would be an improvement. The siding panels on the front would look better if they were the same darker color. Painting them white would not be an improvement. I don't think black windows are a good idea either. Most window manufacturers have some sort of dark bronze option which would fit the brick better than black. You could paint your front door a more vibrant color - something in the red/orange/yellow family or green. I don't know if any of these things would make you like your house more. If you love it for other reasons maybe you can tolerate it the way it is for a while longer until the trends come back around to brown.
