Please help choose exterior paint colors for house with tan roof
Hi everyone - we are getting ready to have the siding, trim, windows, door & shutters repainted on our house. We hate the roof, but it's in good condition, so it stays. I don't think we can afford to paint the brick - so we are needing to make it flow with the brick. (I posted a similar thread over the weekend but I can't find it and it didn't receive any feedback. This time I have added a better photo)
Here is a photo of our house currently:
Below is a mock-up where I have colored it with whiter trim and accented the squares below the window (does this look bad?)
Below is a mock-up where I've changed the shutters and door to green...
And here it is with brown shutters and slightly darker siding....
Thoughts or suggestions for a better color palette?

Comments (19)This is Agreeable Gray, Extra White and Gauntlet Gray. I actually think it would be a mistake to go too much gray on the body. You will already have a gray roof. Canvas Tan is a little grayer than Patience. I would not use those garage doors shown above. They are a modern design and your house is closer to traditional. I also think the wood grain and side windows when combined with stone would look too busy. I hope one of the professionals will speak to the door as I am just a person like you. Comments (5)What do you mean by “pop?” I like the existing color of the house, but would definitely lose the turquoise accents. That isn’t the kind of “pop” that I would like. I suggest that the “pop” come in the form of landscaping design. Colorful foliage, planter boxes (perhaps in turquoise), beautiful trees, etc. Bring in a landscape designer. 5 years agoI think a shade of green would look great with the brick and roof colors. Check out Sherwin Williams mountain road.....it is a green with a lot of greige/beige in it.
I would consider SW loggia siding with SW mountain road shutters, and a darker color for the front door, such as SW porpoise.
