Im my own worst enemy when I go to Nurseries!!!
Comments (17)I do the same. Today I was suppose to be mowing the seven acres I didn't get done yesterday, but decided to put it off until later so it would be out of the hottest part of the day. Took off for the nearest town and just happened to stop at the tiny nursery where I picked up the Purple Cherokee plants about a month ago. Needed some cabbage and brussel sprouts. Well, the German Johnsons that I missed during the last trip there and a poor Mr. Stripey that had been marked down to a dollar because it was pretty darn tall, oh, and a 4 pack of a "Golden" something tomato caught my eye. When I went in to pay, the lady said the guy was going to mark down things on Thurs. and I commented that I came a day too early. She said he was just going to mark down the flowers and I told her he'd have to do the veggies soon because they were starting to look a little rough. Right thing to say? She told me she'd mark down the ones I bought today. Tomatoes, and cabbage .25 a plant and the brussel sprouts wound up being 6 for a dollar. Like I needed another 10 tomato plants having 25 already. Oh, I just love growing vegetables....See MoreDoes The New Comforter Go With the Headboard?
Comments (139)Ingrid, I think it's it's absolutely wonderful your DH has helped work thru your 'dilema' and while he may not be able to explain his 'male logic', the point system is pure genius! You mention the patience with GW members, but imo, DH gets the gold metal, as he is 'on site' and an active participant in all this, not to mention the amount of patience in handling returns, which in itself can be a real pain. Choosing a white bedspread will allow you many options for sure~I prefer solids myself for that reason.. I was looking on line and came across cobolt blue/white pillows which I now can't seem to locate! I though how beautiful that would look, and possiblly hanging a couple of your porcelain plates above each nightstand. I would also love to see a couple of your colorful lamps in the bedroom~they would add quite a wow factor to the space. Now I need to hunt down those pillows!...See MoreSoft Dusky Purple That Will Go w/ This Picture
Comments (42)Now I'm even more confused. Milliken sent me samples of the stately beige color. Meanwhile one of the carpet stores my husband contracts for oordered a sample board. Believe it or not both the large sample on the board and the smaller sample are labeled the same color, stately beige. That's way more than slight shading difference that carpet companies say is normal. I was not look for something with so much contrast. I like the smaller sample much better. Hoping a Milliken rep can advise which shade is more accurate....See MoreDoes anyone else get overwhelmed when going to nurseries?
Comments (1)I re-imagine my garden all the time. I've been here for more than 20 years, so I have to watch myself because of lack of space for planting new things. The moving about of plants is part of the fun... or the chore of having a garden. This winter we had an unusually long snow season and several of my plants were damaged. I have senna plants that flush out into beautiful yellow blooms in August and they really suffered. Some of them were just too damaged to keep. I'd been eyeing the bed they live in for a while and the winter damage gave me the push I needed to re-do. I'm sure that senna plants can be weaved together to form a green wall. I've decided to try and grow a blooming bower. They aren't quite big enough yet, just little stick looking things really. Still, a half-day of work and it looks 100% better. Back to your frustration... I think you may be reading it wrong. It seems more like you're creatively visualizing your garden. You're probably better off leaving without anything if you have a sense that before you buy you need to move things about....See Moreskmom
