Cannot start Malwarebytes with W10
Comments (12)Using a highly rated security program is a better approach and protection requires no user invention. By doing so, neither Super Anti Spyware nor Malwarebytes will likely be needed. It's not like having these run are essential or even needed for a properly protected machine. If you're not using a best in class program, uninstall what you have plus these two , pick just one of the top three rated programs on this list of independent test results shown in the link below, and be happy. Comments (14)Those are valid criticisms, debo, but are many years dated. I can only speak for one of the two that I use (and no need to mention which) and can say it's substantially changed and left those problems behind many, many years ago. It has an extremely light touch and you wouldn't know it's there other than the rare occasion when its real-time sentry function presents a popup to say it has blocked a problem in the act, before it could happen. Scans and updates are done only when the machine is inactive and postponed if use starts. There is no activity present or delays apparent at boot-up at all. Webroot looks to be a terrific choice, tied for first with three others and all four are given an Editors Choice award. If you're happy to proceed with Webroot, you really can't do any better. If you want to know which of the two mentioned I use successfully, click on my name to go to the site's user page and send me a message. I try to follow the advice I give, my own personal preference is of no value in the face of professional and objective ratings. Anyone with an interest should refer to those....See Morewhat computer security do you use
Comments (29)Haha, my Apple loving friends? I didn't say that. I would say that Apple's market share is probably higher with more affluent families, perhaps lower with less. Maybe slightly higher here than elsewhere because Apple is here. But among all the tech industry-involved people I know, engineers and others, I'm aware of only one guy (who writes firmware for NICs and routers) who uses Linux at home. His family revolted and he had to give up and get them a Windows PC. No one else. My location and the people I know are probably more likely than others to lead one to expect Linux home use. But it's really nowhere to be found. You and anyone else should figit with it if it interests you. Doing so tends to attract fix-it and engineer types looking for something to play with. But in this discussion you're extending your own preferences and actions to a wider population, that's invalid reasoning....See MoreHow to get rid of yahoo search engine
Comments (13)"I've uninstalled chromium and other programs on my computer but they keep coming back." A legit Chromium installation will not do that. Perhaps a rouge copy of Chromium came bundled with another piece of software? I suspect most Windows users choose Google Chrome over Chromium. (Just a guess) Chromium is perfectly legit but only if you deliberately installed it. But if it came bundled with another piece of software and just showed up unexpected, it's probably not. If you do think you may have a bad copy of Chromium, there's detailed removal instructions on bleepingcomputer.com It of course includes Malwarebytes, but also a few other malware removal tools in what might be called a shotgun approach. Is each step necessary? I don't know but it's so comprehensive it should . There's a similar question concerning Bing search engine here: https://www.gardenweb.com/discussions/5729293/bing-search-engine#n=12 It's probably unrelated to your issue but if you read through it you'll see how a screenshot can sometimes save misunderstanding. I'm not hinting. ;)...See Moreravencajun Zone 8b TX
