Need a running lawn-boy for my son
Comments (4)I agree. Many of the lawns I cut as a kid the customer had the mower. Usually you will find they have one. As a kid it is much easier to ride a bike over then lug a mower over. For the customers that do not have or would prefer to have him not use theirs he can use the "parts mower". Not having to deal with a two cycle machine might be easier as well. A good used Toro or Honda IMO or a reliable self propelled 4 stroke would be a better machine than an old pieced together Lawn-Boy. DonÂt get me wrong, I grew up with LBÂs and have a soft spot for them but there are much better choices that would be more reliable and easier to deal with as a kid....See MoreLooking for feedback on art for my son's room...(w/ pics)
Comments (24)A little more: So cute. Are your framed plane pictures matted? When I look closely it looks like they're either matted or there's a width of frosted glass or something that is not quite as white as the print. If they are matted, and the wall color is staying yellow, I would suggest taking them out and either painting them, or covering them with fabric, to something that will help seed them on the wall a little more. (I've both painted and used fabrics to change the color/texture of matting -- in the end there's no real difference other than the texture that fabric can add). Unless my color is off, I don't think those (look like/white) sheets are going to really tie in with the (looks butter) wall color. Maybe a red/blue/white/yellow stripe, or a plaid or something, or contrast the wall color with a navy or red/white stripe. Though it looks those sheets _would_ tie in to the shades, if you end up wanting to keep those (they look lime on my monitor as well). You could always go with blue walls. :) HTH...See MoreMy son is coming home, my son is coming home!
Comments (23)He requested meatloaf, mashed potatoes & roasted zucchini, so that is what I am cooking. I just hope he gets home for dinner. I already have the ground beef in the fridge thawing out..Tomorrow morning I will peel the potatoes a & leave them in water. I will chop off the tough ends of the asparagus. As soon as the meat is thawed out I will mix up the meatloaf....See MoreUpdating my son's room - how do I cover this mural?
Comments (16)We had to lose a mural too -- bought a house with a tea party mural - perfect for a house with a couple of girls, but we have two boys. We wound up wallpapering, so we did sand the wall. We had to remove texture more than paint. Since you are planning on painting, and assuming the walls have some texture on them, I would paint on one coat of tinted primer and see if you can see ridges or brush strokes through the primer. If you do, you ony need to sand to break those down, not totally remove them, so they blend in with the wall's texture. If you have done a lot of sanding you will definitely want a second coat of primer. If not, you can decide whether you want a second coat of primer. If the wall has no texture at all, then I would give it a light sanding first, then prime. If the grey goes with the blue in his room, I'd go with the one he likes. If you have a large open are of carpet, you can put a rug on top of it. If not, it will fade away visually -- it isn't going to be what he or likely anyone else is really looking at....See MoreElwira
