My son is coming home, my son is coming home!

Sam is coming home TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!! We don't know what time yet, but Job Corps is flying him home!!!! They took him shopping today also. He got a new shirt, new jeans, and steel toed tennis shoes for work...Yippe!!!!

They were never married. This was a verbal agreement. This is why a court order is now necessary. She states that she is the only one who can take care of the child. She is immature and causing our family unnecessary grief. She does not want him taking his son to birthday parties for his friends kids. She does not want him to stay in his Father's home. She has a list of don'ts. She examines the child every time he returns home from our home. Immature behavior is a very dangerous thing.

You are in a difficult situation indeed. I understand what you are going through. My husband and I have a son together. He also has a daughter from a previous marriage and I have a son from a previous marriage. The situation you describe sounds like mine in that my husband shows his biological son an enormous amount of love and my other son nothing. There is basically no interaction at this point between the two. He use to discipline my son, but I felt it was done unfairly so that has stopped. Now we are at the point where he nit picks about every little thing my son does, but not to him...to me. It is sooo annoying. It has weakened our relationship as husband and wife, but at least my son is not constantly hearing the complaints. I must say though that my husband's nit picking has made me more critical of my sons behavior. I feel like I am riding him harder over insignificant stuff so I don't have to listen to my husbands complaints...I keep telling myself I need to stop this. My husband, for the most part, is good to me and our son. My other son is 12 and very into school, friends, and basketball. I try to do extra stuff for him when I can to make up for the fact that he doesn't have a dad and his step-dad wants nothing to do with him. My dad (his grandpa) is also a wonderful role model and strong male figure in his life. He spends a lot of time with him. Is it possible for you to find your other son another strong male role model? Like a grandfather, a friend, or join a big brother big sister group? Maybe that would help him and allow you to stay with your husband. You also must consider your other children too. What effect will it have on them if you take them away from their father?

Great, glad to hear this isn't a flipper house and it doesn't need to be generic. I'd be happy to discuss the design potential of the idea of green bowling balls rolling across the lawn to go with the tall pointy conifers with your son. Lots of round green balls and more pointy conifers. Screw the typical suburban foundation planting concept all together. Imagine a modern cubist kind of landscape with those sculptural forms flowing across the front in a short grass, flowering lawn that only needs mowing 3x a year. Very low maintenance, The balls will only need shearing once or twice a year. Your son sounds busy. It will be a first on the block. Added: I grew up in a large university town. My sister lives in a neighborhood closer to campus that got sucked up by college student 'owners'. So no, the idea of it is not elusive.

I thought all 3 chairs should be swivel and then the "reading" are could be a separate area with both of those chairs swinging toward each other. You could do bookcases in the niche, or a console table with a great piece of art above it. Just depends on what they need and want. Measurements I used have to be verified of course, but I assumed the stairs, entry to the back of the house and that front door/ and indent at front of house all take up square footage. I also put a 9 x 12 rug (dotted line) in Option 3 which would be very nice, because you have more of the tile covered, it anchors the space and gives a comfortable walking path. If they put the TV on that long wall (TIP) MAKE SURE they don't hang it too high. It should be while seated on sofa/sectional, the center of the TV is at eye level. Most hang them too high. Plus there is that drop down ceiling along that wall, so note that for them.

Job Corps is the nation's largest career technical training and education program for young people at least 16 years of age that qualify as low income. A voluntary program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor, Job Corps provides eligible young men and women with an opportunity to gain the experience they need to begin a career or advance to higher education.

Sam qualified because at the time we were living off of Tony's retirement check. He studied Heating and Air Conditioning and got his certification. He has a line on a job already..

I haven't seen Sam since the beginning of January. This is the longest we have been apart.

He requested meatloaf, mashed potatoes & roasted zucchini, so that is what I am cooking. I just hope he gets home for dinner. I already have the ground beef in the fridge thawing out..Tomorrow morning I will peel the potatoes a & leave them in water. I will chop off the tough ends of the asparagus. As soon as the meat is thawed out I will mix up the meatloaf.

Happy Day! I'm sure he will have matured a lot since January -- more man than boy to hug and hold close. Be carefull he doesn't squeeze you too hard. (DGS nearly cracked my ribs recently!)

I'm happy he chose such a good job for himself...I hope he continues his education...that industry seems to make new changes all the time...

boy do I know how much having a kid out of state..one of mine chose college in another state, and both dds went to summer college, one in England and one in Puerto rico!
