Comments (45)Must be all beef. Prefer a toasted bun but will eat a steamed one. I will not eat a hot dog on a cold bun under any circumstances. Boiled or steamed I like them with pickle relish,pepper relish, yellow mustard ,red onion,tomato and shredded cheddar. Grilled (almost burnt) I like them on a toasted bun or french roll with brown mustard and sliced dill pickle. Sometimes I like the the same way as above too. I really miss the New England style buns.They don't sell them in the West any more. With those I like the bun buttered and grilled with a grilled frank and just a bit of yellow mustard. They don't need anything else. Love a good chili dog on a toasted bun with red onions and shredded cheddar. Weird thing about me. Hot dogs on a plate without a bun I eat with ketch-up. Comments (39)I drink mass quantities of water...at room temperature, poured straight from the 2 1/2 gallon water jug to my waiting glass. Our city water is nasty; I have to buy the large jugs of water. I have my own bottles to fill for taking with me if I go to town. Sometimes I'll put a thin slice of lemon, or orange, in it; if I have either on hand. In restaurants I have to always ask for "no ice," and usually get ice anyway. Then I have to ask for refills. I fill two one-gallon pitchers from the tap daily. I let them set for 24 hours to disperse the chlorine before "serving." This is what I use to fill the dogs' bowls. I wish I could provide bottled water for them, but since they drink so much, too, it's "aired" tap water for them. They do seem to appreciate the water that has set out for 24 hours. They turn their noses up at the smelly stuff straight from the tap. I water my house plants with bottled water. I have only four - a shamrock, a mother-in-law's tongue, a Christmas cactus - and a large pot of English Ivy - and they are watered twice a week, so they don't use too much....See MoreHow do you make your home smell like the holidays?
Comments (32)I just tried a simmering potpourri for the first time and it made the whole house smell so Christmas-y! I had fresh peel from my breakfast orange, so I put it in a saucepan w/ water, a couple of broken up cinnamon sticks and a spoonful of whole cloves & put it on the stove over low heat. It's still going right now & I'll definitely do it again. I also get the free trimmings from HD and arrange them around the house, since our tree is vintage aluminum. Comments (22)I don't particularly care for banana bread or muffins. But here's a tip for those who want to make it, and the bananas aren't quite "there" yet. Too ripe to eat, but not ripe enough for baking. 1. Pre-heat your oven to 300 degree F. 2. Line a baking sheet with some parchment paper. 3. Place as many bananas as you need on their sides. 4. Place the tray in the oven and bake for 40 minutes. After 40 minutes, your bananas’ skin should be dark and shiny. They might look a little unappetizing to eat on their own, but the black skin means they’re perfectly ripe for baking. 5. Let the bananas cool for about 30 minutes. 6.
