Thanks Rita. My table is 3x5. Do you think this fixture at 21 inches by 24.5 high will be too big? PB is two hours away, and I don't think they have light fixtures in their stores anyway. I have no sense of proportion.

Suzanne, I think that those dimensions make the chandelier too big. It seems to me that the fixture would hang far too low over the table if you had a standard ceiling height. Two feet hanging down from the ceiling brings the light about about 3 feet above your table. I am assuming an eight foot ceiling and three foot high table.

Your other choices are lovely as well.

ERRATA: I wrote the chandelier was two and a half feet hight. It is two feet and half an inch. I corrected the numbers. The clearance is now three feet with my eight foot ceiling- but you have nine foot ceilings so there is a four foot clearance. Still seems big for the overall dimensions of the table though.

I have a nine foot ceiling, but you're right. The overall height of the light seems too large. I'm not completely sold on the others, as they look a little too big on some of the pictures submitted by people who bought them. Ai yi yi. Still looking. Thanks again.

I think the clear glass pendants create too much glare, don't provide enough light, and will need to be kept sparkling clean. They seem designed to hang over an island. Not sure about the lighting on the capiz shell either.

My table is the same dimension and I have a 24" wide 5-arm chandelier. It's a good size but doesn't provide enough light in winter, but it has glass shades. I've looked at replacing it with the PB Graham chandelier that is wrought iron with six bare candelabra bulbs. It's traditional and would look nice with your table.

I love that chandelier, mayflowers. I agree it would look great.

Maybe I should stick with something traditional, too. I've always liked the chandeliers with bare bulbs. I have something similar to the Graham in my dining room and a larger version in the foyer.

Since you have two, I'd want a different style, and less formal. I forgot it was a kitchen table and not a dining room, despite the title. With the plantation shutters, oak cabinets, and knotty pine table, you might go into a cottage style. What will the floor and backsplash tile be?

Think first one would look good. I like large light fixtures. Suggest make one out of cardboard or heavyweight paper and hang it with string & tape.

I agree that I'd want something different that the other two. While I think the fixtures you posted are nice, the first looks more like an entry light to me and the others look like lights for over an island. what would you think of something like this? Similar to, but different than your others:

Mayflowers, I have no idea what the new tile and backsplash will be. I'm going to the tile place on Wednesday with my GC. I thought I had something chosen, but when I saw a picture of a whole room, I didn't like it. I have hardwood floors open to the kitchen, so I'm struggling with that decision, too.

I like every one of the lights you posted. The fourth one from mdln and the one from Olychick are similar, and very pretty. We have a lighting store that sells Progress lighting, so I'll see what they have on display. It's hard when you have to buy something without seeing it in person.

I would keep it rather simple for a small oak kitchen. I like the one Oly posted too.
