Comments (13)I had the exact same problem. I picked out the vanity I wanted but did not think about the fact that it wasn't made to sit flush against the wall. I spent a month looking for something else, but in the end we decided to go with something shorter and have it not be against the wall. But we were going from 72" to 60" which is probably not workable in your mom's situation. I did find a lot of vanities that did have flat sides and could work in a corner, if you are willing to have the countertop fabricated. They just need to not have any trim detail on the top or bottom like the one you picked out does. I would just look at the ones without the pre-made tops. Because the pre-made top will still leave you with a slight gap because of the countertop overhang. This is an example: Avanity Modero which is sold everywhere, not just at Lowe's. The cabinet we ended up buying is an Avanity Madison which won't work for you, but I assume it is of similar quality. We are pretty happy with it. The drawers and doors have soft close but I do feel like the glides in my Ikea kitchen drawers are better quality. It is very pretty and I wanted a stained wood so I am really happy with our choice. If I had been willing to go with a painted finish, I think we might have stuck with the 72" Modero....See MoreFor you guys that run your own Bathroom remodeling company
Comments (9)You start small. Like replacing vanities/fixtures. You need to know local codes quite well. Example: I once remodeled a bath(left tub/shower combo alone) by replacing the window, new toilet, new vanity, new faucet(adding shutoffs), new floor and painting----all legally sans permits. How? Local codes said doing one of those things at a time was legal without permits, doing three or more required a permit. Makes a huge difference in costs/time. You need to take on small jobs that bigger companies will not---that usually means a lot more work. So easy work/lots of profit are not gonna happen. If you have experience in interior waterproofing, you have a leg up---waterproofing a bath is the single biggest problem for warranty work, at least in my experience. Bad tiling is second---and tiling right is not simple. A really good way to get experience is to volunteer with a local Habitat chapter and actually build houses---and baths/kitchens. Or charities like Christmas in October/etc....See MoreWhere to find a good quality bathroom vanity online???
Comments (16)We put in two 36” Adrian vanities about six months ago. We did the white oak with marbled white quartz tops and they are just absolutely gorgeous and still look like they did day 1. We also have a number of other room and board pieces (including a Berkeley dresser) and are always impressed with the quality and customer service. I have had issues with an item in the past and they replaced it no questions asked. Definitely take a look at their showroom if you can. Highly recommend Room & Board!...See MoreTrouble picking paint color and vanity for very small master bathroom
Comments (26)@Jean thank you for the info, which I appreciate. I'm in Canada and only 1 of the stores that sell them is anywhere near me, I phoned them and they only sell to stores. plus, if @Diana Bier is correct about prices, I'm looking for something more affordable, but they are definitely gorgeous! Thank you all for your input, which I appreciate very much. I ended up going for a light aqua (sherwin williams Watery at 40%). I know in the pictures it looks more blueish but it has some green in it too. I'm very happy with it (very spa vibes!) but am wondering what do for my built in niche near the toilet : 1) do I keep the inside part wood (that I would stain) or paint it white and 2) what would you do as a background : wallpaper? See pictures below please Thanks in advance :)...See MoreM Sm
