Online Site for Bathroom Vanity Tops
Comments (3)We just finished remodeling the kid's bath. I ordered the vanity top from e-counters.com and I could not be happier. It's Blanco Maple silestone with a Kohler Caxton undermount sink. They frequently have 20% off sales and the sink and shipping were included. Total cost was right around $800 for a 56" top and sidesplash. The only worrisome part is that you have to give them the measurements so make sure you measure carefully. Here is a link that might be useful: E-Counters website...See Moreonline bathroom vanity sources
Comments (5)papercrane, thank you for responding, i also do most of my shopping online, however am very unsure of purchasing a sight unseen, minimal information regarding the vendor, large, heavy, expensive piece of furniture from an online source with a less than appealing return policy. for instance, they do not want you to refuse the shipment for ANY reason & if you return the item you must pay for the return AND outgoing shipping(which was actually free shipping)PLUS a 15% restocking fee, AND the product Must be returned in the original package. Is it just me, or does this sound absurd? sheilaaus, thank you also for responding- I have a homedecorators story... I get their catolog and have always thought the products and pricing were good, I went online and realized they actually have several storefront locations and over the past 2 years have been affiliated with the home depot, i was so excited and thought it would be worth it and even took a trip to one of their locations. When we arrived in the parking lot (on a Saturday afternoon 2 weeks ago) the lot was empty, we were very surprised, however after walking around the entire store we understood why- the quality was below average and the finishes were just awful, I really wanted to love this stuff, didn't leave until looking at everthing, very dissappointing, however very glad did not purchase anything sight unseen. Still hoping someone will respond with a great online source for bathroom vanities. the online sources that have the vanities i want are premierevanities and maxvanities. thank you in advance for your responses....See MoreHaving trouble finding reputable company for bathroom vanity
Comments (12)Jan Moyer, 1) I want to order online because I haven't found a local cabinetmaker that doesn't want at least $7,000 for this 59" x 22.5" vanity. That's just too steep for me...especially after spending so much $$ on a kitchen remodel. 2) I want to order online because I can't seem to get any help from kitchen and bath businesses in my area (very small town) that want to deal with ONLY ordering 1 vanity. They like to do full kitchens and more expensive jobs. 3) My custom kitchen cabinet maker hasn't gotten back to me for a bathroom vanity bid. I'm not sure he's around anymore. 4) Why not MDF? Because I like stain/glaze on real wood. MDF is only paintable. I haven't found a company that provides sealed plywood as the box...I've only found companies that provide particle board. My current vanity is particle board and when we had a water issue by the toilet, it swelled the base of my vanity and the wood veneer split in multiple places... 5) My current vanity is short, 32". That's why I want a taller vanity... Yes, I was thinking of simply ordering a kitchen cabinet base (like for an island) to use as a vanity. I like all drawers in the bathroom, no doors if possible. 6) I like "matchy"...and since we're remodelling two bathrooms, I'd like the house to feel cohesive with the same cabinetry throughout....See MoreBathroom vanity tops and MDF bathroom vanities.
Comments (5)Millworkman, I think I must have read somewhere that you shouldn't use granite on MDF cabinets Patricia Colwell Consulting, the vanity does not come with a top. It was just shown with a top. The Hayneedle website description said it was just the cabinet and it is just the cabinet (arrived this past Friday). Siamesey, I hear ya but since I spent a ton of money converting the tub to shower, I have to save where I can. Unfortunately, when you combine the needs of my mother (the main user of this bathroom), the style that I would like, along with the need to work around the plumbing location, I actually don't have a lot of choices. It's been really hard to combine the first two of those and find a vanity with drawers on the left hand side (the plumbing dictate). I looked at custom made and even semi custom made and no, I can't do that. Even though the vanity is made of MDF and is RTA, to me it has better quality than some of low end all wood vanities that I've seen. Also, most of the cabinets I've looked at still seem to have MDF in them somewhere, especially white cabinets which is what I wanted for this bathroom....See MoreUser
