Thanks, everyone! Like I said, I get paralyzed when it comes to color so I picked a paint strip and fear to venture off of it! Ha : ) Restrained Gold in the whole house would definitely be too much, although I'm intrigued that you all think that the family room should be something other than Ivoire. Blonde is one shade darker than Ivoire (and one lighter than Restrained Gold) but seems awfully yellowy to me. Does anyone have other ideas (San Antonio Sage looks nice) for a family room color and would I have too many colors on the first floor of the house (Restrained Gold in two rooms, Posh Red and something for the family room and Ivoire or something else for the kitchen)? What does that mean for the kitchen and hallway color? Should I go with Ivoire (darkened by 50%) or Blonde or Restrained Gold? Thanks again for your advice!

At first, I was thinking a light gray could work, if it picks up one of the brick colors. I think the white trim here also helps balance that pairing. This was a custom color, but it looks way less brown based than Gauntlet Gray to me, more like the steel tones of your lightest gray brick. Then I started to think that with all your roof, a dark gray, like Gauntlet Gray would divide your rather short house. That's probably why it's painted a color close to the roof. Here's a dark gray shorter house,(painted something like Winchester Gray, a poster thinks.) that has a matching roof, unlike yours. Personally, I wouldn't like this dark gray on your house. Would you ever consider going to a chocolate brown, with red accents? Here, your roof is the third color, as is their orangey natural wood trim. Paint the garage the red. Your setting is gorgeous!

First improve the lighting From that electrical you have in the ceiling you could run probably at least 10 LEDs in 4” pots all ove rht eceiling get them in $000k range then worry about wall color.

So your close up has helped. I think you were on the right track with SW Agreeable Gray because I think that even though your stone has yellows and oranges, I think the grey stone actually shows a little violet. I think you are risking getting this wrong if you rush yourself too much, as seeing the new color, and even the current finishes will be hard with all those bright colors around. Before you go into the house, paint several extra large poster boards with some of your contenders so they are ready to go for you as soon as you are on sight. Look at: SW Agreeable Gray (lighter than the next 3) BM Fossil BM Balboa Mist BM Collingwood BM Wind's Breath (Lighter than the others) BM CSP-95 Sea Salt (Full Spectrum color that will behave different from the rest) I know you want to get rid of those obnoxious colors, but I think it is fair to ask your painter to prime the front entry, and give you a few days to decide the new color. Maybe even after he primes, you ask him to delay your job a bit, so you can really see the colors as the light shifts and moves. The big risk with low chroma colors in this area of the color wheel is that they shift, and you might not like what you see. It would be a costly mistake to rush. Take a look at the new list and let me know if there is an alternate route you would like to look at. Please slow down this decision. I hope you land on the correct color easily when you are in the house. I would paint a few from the list that you think might work because you will know instantly when the board is next to the stone and stairs, which direction you need to go. I would love to see the house when it is freshly painted. It will be magnificent!
