Comments (11)I have two yellows that are not screaming meemie that I love! One is SW Jersey Cream. (Posted in Gallery "Yellows" thread during painting/remodel process. To get to the Gallery just look at the options at top of page, right before posts start. You'll see Decorating, Gallery, Conversations. ) The other is an Ace color, Manor Cream. (I had the JC mixed by Ben Moore, but the Ace color I just used Ace paint.) Soothing, not jarring, calming. In a high light room the Jersey Cream might be too light for you, I used it in a lower light family room and it's perfect, it has mellowed to a buttery creamy golden. The Manor Cream I put in higher light bedrooms in a different house, and I can't get enough of that color when I'm there! (Sorry, no pics of that one) Despite the name, both are more yellow than cream for sure. In fact when searching yellows, I found a huge chunk of the agony is taken away if you shift your focus over to swatches of creams that have high yellow tint in them. "True" yellows (just like taupes/beiges) have the propensity to drive you crazy! And almost all were too jarring for my taste. Also, trailrunner has a yellow I had my eye on for ages but never used. After seeing it on her laundry room walls I regret not using it! Valspar (pretty sure it's Valspar line at Lowe's) Belgian Waffle. If you post and ask her for it, she'd probably oblige. She re-posted it for me once but the thread is gone (lost in one of the board software glitches we've had lately?)....See Morelet me see your guest bedrooms! pics please!
Comments (21)I have no pictures to share but I do have some advice. My daughter recently moved out and we are using her room as a guest room now. I spent a couple of nights in it to get a feel for what it might need. I noticed that the bedtable didn't have a good light and that the ceiling fan was unbalanced. I went out and bought a good reading lamp and balanced the fan. I also put in a clockradio and a variety of magazines. I think it's nice to have a TV, too....See MoreUse your Imagination - Future Guest Bedroom
Comments (15)She wants $75 but I think that is too much especially since I do not need the footboard for this space. What do you think? My landlord did say she was going to have the electrician fix some outlets but she says a lot w/o delivering. I am worried about the summer - no central air in this house. But we will cross that bridge when it gets here. Oh, found a great buy - a 2' dia clock wih Roman numerals on sale at BB&B for $14.98 less my 20% coupon - $12. Sticker said large hand sticks. I knew I could easily fix that. I put it up in place of that black framed picture to left of where bed will be. The black framed art (cacti) I moved to under the picasso shown in the first photo. Thanks all!!!...See MoreNeed Help with Master Bedroom Bathroom/Bedroom Layout - 1970s house
Comments (5)I like my first idea best as far as use of space. I know people say not to put toilets on an outside wall. We had one in our last house in Iowa, but we had 2X6 construction. I don't know how high your window is, but I'm guessing the toilet would fit under there. The shower would be 5 feet long or shorter if you want a wider space to get to the toilet. (kind of tight the way I have drawn). You could do a 5 and half foot long shower and do an angled door at the left end to allow room between the shower and toilet. The vanity would be about 7 feet long, unless you do a 60 inch vanity with a linen cabinet at the door. I would reverse entry door swing if you do that.. The second top right could work and you would still have a small closet. The bottom left plan would require waterproofing your front window. Hopefully someone will give you other ideas. The bottom right plan is bigger, but no closet. Each square equals 1 foot....See Moretracefloyd
