Which SW whites have you tried that are too gray?

We picked up 4-5 chip cards yesterday--wanted to test against the house before we bought any samples to actually paint...I should know by now not to trust the lighting effect in a paint store--we took Rhinestone, Site White, Sky High and Ice Cube--Ice Cube is the best of the 4 but still looks too gray... Normally I use BM paint but the painter we are using favors SW and I think it is better when they use a paint they are familiar w/than having them use a brand they aren't... And using color formular outside brands doesn't always work either. We would get it mixed in smallest sz for custom and try samples on walls before we got him to buy for the house...

Any suggestions? I haven't been to BM store--last time I chose a BM white I took Super White for bathroom trim and I love it--but think that is too start a contrast for exterior of house w/darker gray trim...

I think you're looking at the wrong hue family. Rhinestone, Site White, Ice Cube and especially Sky High.

Ice Cube 7.97 GY and Site White 8.89 GY belongs to the green-yellow hue family over close to the green hue family. Rhinestone at 1.65 G is at the very beginning of the green hue family - they're all located in the same hue family neighborhood.

Sky High belongs to the blue-green hue family at 9.13 BG and that's really going in the wrong direction.

A color from the yellow hue family that's lower in chroma is going to give you the look of a white with a slight hint of gray but not green or blue.

Greek Villa and Westhighland White fit the description of what you're looking for better -- and maybe Dover White.
