Ultimately, you have to go with what you like. Personally, I like the all brick look you've mocked up. It's classic and durable. I didn't even notice the almond windows and when I did look at them, they looked very nice. Speaking for myself, I don't generally care for the white siding but it sound like you do! You should go with it if that's what you're looking for.

Hi kled, I really think - especially with such a large lovely structure - that this is a job for a professional designer. Having gotten that out of the way, I recently replaced all my fascia (and replacing gutters too) which was painted a dark red. It looked okay on my red-orange brick house, but I wanted something lighter colored. I finally chose a sand-tone color. But, how did I choose? Well, I took a photo of a wall that was fairly representative, in decent light. And then I looked at it on my computer to see if the colors seemed pretty accurate. Then I loaded the photo into a graphics program and "selected" the red fascia and gutters and experimented with substituting with different colors - via the graphics program. I'd like to tell you that I'm completely happy with the sand-tone color I ended up with, but the jury is still out on that. But, I think I'll like it (Once I get all the gutters & downspouts installed and trim painted). There are so many ways to go with color - really hard to advise someone else.

Thanks for these ideas. I can't believe the effort you all put into offering ideas - taking photos of neighbors houses, inspiration pics, paint swatches and even color mockups! For jterrilynn - I really appreciate your mockup, however, the siding on this house is natural redwood. It is not stained or painted. I will be doing some work on it to get rid of some of the darkening, which I believe is extractive bleeding, and not mildew. I don't actually think the brick is the best match to the redwood, but it's there. I have considered painting it, but that sounds like extra maintenance, so for now, won't. I also think it's a bit less peachy than the photo makes it look. That was evening sun, and it does face west, so maybe it accentuates that color in the setting sun. If it doesn't rain today, I'll try out some swatches on the primed areas. Wish me luck!

Here's a Georgian new build which is a bit similar to yours. As you can see, it's the classic Georgian red brick color too. Don't change it. It also has a front gable (what you call the triangular thing on the roof). I wouldn't change it either. Very expensive to do so since you are basically rebuilding the roof, and it won't improve the appearance of the house. You see there are no shutters either - your house has no room for shutters on some of the windows. The trim is cream vs white which you may consider if you are painting anyway, but I wouldn't go to the trouble if your trim is in good shape. Have a look at the railings. Black vs your white ones, and they go up the side. Metal looks best. That's the only change I'd make if you don't like yours. Or just paint yours black so they do not stand out so much. However, if you put side railings then the pots have to go somewhere else because someone using the railing needs to be able to hold the railing all the way up the stairs and not be stopped by the pots at the top of the stairs. You have a beautiful home.
