HELP!!! Exterior trim color help needed!
Comments (5)Hi kled, I really think - especially with such a large lovely structure - that this is a job for a professional designer. Having gotten that out of the way, I recently replaced all my fascia (and replacing gutters too) which was painted a dark red. It looked okay on my red-orange brick house, but I wanted something lighter colored. I finally chose a sand-tone color. But, how did I choose? Well, I took a photo of a wall that was fairly representative, in decent light. And then I looked at it on my computer to see if the colors seemed pretty accurate. Then I loaded the photo into a graphics program and "selected" the red fascia and gutters and experimented with substituting with different colors - via the graphics program. I'd like to tell you that I'm completely happy with the sand-tone color I ended up with, but the jury is still out on that. But, I think I'll like it (Once I get all the gutters & downspouts installed and trim painted). There are so many ways to go with color - really hard to advise someone else....See MoreHELP!!! Comments (1)The mix of painted and stained gives this house some of it's charm. I know gray is currently very trendy, but it has no place next to the warm tones of the cedar shakes. A green or burgundy would be a classic choice in this situation. You could do a green with a bit more gray in it as a nod to more contemporary tastes, but it needs to look good with the cedar. Behr Grape Leaves was one of the first colors that came to mind. It's a warm yellow based green to go with the warm shingle color, but has enough gray in it to read "now". But now that I view it onscreen with the shingles, I think it might be too light to provide contrast and you might want to move to Jungle Trail instead....See MoreWant to change the exterior trim color & need help please!
Comments (0)Hi, i need help! I don't like the trim color on my house (previous owners painted it). I just think it's too loud or something so I want a color with a softer look but I can't seem to find the perfect tan that's not too light (I feel like goldilocks!) and I realized gray doesn't look very nice because it doesn't match the roof. I'm thinking of also painting the garage door the same as the trim color and then do maybe a shade of blue for the front door. I'm spending a fortune on paint samples because they look so different when I get them on the trim so figured maybe someone might have some ideas? :/ Also I'm sprucing up the garden is the next step so I certainly don't have to match anything there. I'm not sure if I want to paint the whole house yet but if I do it'll be the same color it is now because it fits well with the neighbors (tanish orange w/brown trim, brick w/dark gray trim and blue w/white trim). I'm also going to repainting the lamps because they are looking tired but can't afford to do all new outdoor lighting. And want to paint the front door a shade of blue I think (white now) I GREATLY APPRECIATE YOUR HELP!!!!!!...See MoreI need help with my exterior house color/trim
