Recommendations Washer/Dryer?
Comments (20)I also have LG front loader, and I love it. I went with the standard dryer though as I couldn't see paying hundreds more for a dryer that had the same functionality (that I'm looking for) and two towels more capacity than a regular maytag dryer. There's really not much difference. If having a "pair" is at the top of your list of priorities, then so be it, but I don't have guests in my laundry room or an area that's visible, so I don't need the matching appliances. I've had no problems with my LG, almost two years now, and my neighbor has had hers for five years I want to say, and she's had zero problems. I have no problems with vibrations, my guess is it's not properly balanced (should be done by delivery guys. I run bleach through a cleaning cycle on my washer once a month (as is recommended by manufacturer), and I leave the door ajar occasionally, though I do neglect to wipe out the door as they recommend, but I've had no problems....See Moreneed recommendation for a washer and dryer
Comments (2)All brands have complaints. Individual experience varies on a wide range. For example, Fisher & Paykel is typically at the bottom of reliability ratings ... but I have an F&P toploader that's 20 years old and has had only one repair (replacement of the pump). Getting good performance regards to water source and quality (private well or other) is much more a function of user habits (choosing a good-quality detergent, proper detergent dosing, or installing a water softener if needed) than of washer design....See MoreWhat Refrigerator, Washer, Dryer do you recommend?
Comments (20)Thank you all so much for your responses. We have settled on a Whirlpool French door, no frills refrigerator. We feel the basic model will have the least problems, (we hope). We were looking into an LG but the wait time is too long and although we have heard good things, we have also heard not so good. We were told that Whirlpool is easier to repair, quicker to repair and has less service calls. This remains to be seen. @Chloebud as you have said, there are good and bad reviews for all males and models. My previous appliances lasted me twenty years each, both from Sears, and a lot less time investigating. 😊. Times have changed and now appliances don’t last as long and there is so many more options. We just decided we wanted a roomy refrigerator and we chose wrf535swhz. We also chose Whirlpool for our washer and dryer, models wfw5620hw and wgd5620hw. We went with models that have options we always use on our washer/dryer plus a newer option for us, the steam option. We had a front load washer dryer previously and we prefer it. Our models were still working (both Kenmore) when we moved. We are hoping to be fortunate enough for these to last a good while. Thank you to @Mary Elizabeth, @jdmccl, @homechef, @focalpointhardware, @luna123456 and all the other housers above I have replied to earlier. I do so appreciate your advice....See MoreNew washer and dryer recommendations?
Comments (15)Mrs Tad Hacker, I wouldn't even know where to start to find one in Canada and can only imagine that it would be $$$. I don't mind the long cycles on the LG and routinely double rinse every load. I'm a front load lover and enjoy being able to customize my settings for each load. As seen in my picture, there are multiple types of detergent and additives that are used routinely. None of that is part of a detergent hoard. Now if the Speed Queen could automatically move the clothes from the washer to the dryer, I'd be on board! LOL...See Moremiracx
