Houzz has a photo search function and you can sort photos by size, style, color, etc. The different search parameters are on the left hand side of the page. The pictures can be overwhelming but it's a start. If you can post photos of your room and some inspiration photos, it would be easier to help you.

I also like color and for my master I used this rug in a 12x16. I paired it with a velvet teal/peacock headboard and a metallic crossweave wallpaper. I kept the bedcover simple because I already had lots of color. I picked a beige/gold and had a custom fitted bedspread done at Calico Corners. Drapes are a teal/peacock in silk

Very hard to find color in the Houzz photos! I also searched for ideas and it was just an endless sea of boring beige and white. When I found the rug, it was my starting point for the bedroom.

Don't rush and buy stuff just for the sake of filling the room. It took me about a year to get mine done, with months to come up with a design and then more months waiting for the stuff.

Also don't limit your search to just bedrooms. I used many living rooms as inspiration for my bedroom. Look at the colors and patterns that catch your eye. Here are a few:

Wow, that is a lot to look through, I'm excited! When I get home tonight, I know what I'll be doing. As for not rushing, I've lived in this house for 10 years and I just can't seem to figure out what I want.

For some background. My bedroom is huge, in a dumb way, which makes it a lot harder. I will measure it later for some idea so you can agree. I love pattern and pattern mixing and am a bit traditional but more on the "collected" gathered furniture look. I don't like matching sets and tend to stay away from that kind of look. Don't like formal furniture styling either.
