Avira Free Event list warning for malware found
Comments (16)The pop ups have stopped - I noted in this thread actions taken within Avira to Quarantine, this and perhaps other programs removed most problems.... Avira scan still shows one warning. The message you highlight is no longer in the report. The Avira report does still show some invisible reports: 1) Starting search for hidden objects. Comments (4)these are the directions we give for malwarebytes at download # Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program. # At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish. # If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version. # Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan. # When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results. # Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. # When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. The log can also be found here: C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\log-date.txt did you do the step that says be sure everything is checked and click REMOVE selected? I personally would never have Norton on one of my computers again been there done that and fought to get all their stuff off my pc and that was quite a challenge. I use Avast free for my antivirus and like it, if I were to pay for one it would be ESET Nod32 which is highly ranked. Always be sure to update malwarebytes prior to running the scans and I run the full scan weekly....See Morefree websites/avg malware
Comments (18)Once started, the rogue itself, like all other rogues, will scan your computer and state that there are numerous infections on it. If you attempt to use the program to remove any of these infections, though, it will state that you need to purchase the program first. In reality, though, the infections that the rogues states are on your computer are all legitimate files that if deleted could cause Windows to not operate correctly. Therefore, please do not trust anything it states are infections. You will need to remove this. The computer guy will probably reformat / return to factory settings....See MoreOnly free amti-malware? Comments (10)Thanks, I went from commercial to AVG when I retired and turned in my company computer, in 2003. I was disappointed by something in AVG about 7 years ago and went to Avira Free. Yes, I have strange problems... the XP machine that brought me here this time was even having problems sending email from Thunderbird...it downloaded okay but time out on send. In parallel tonight I switched back to DSL from my trial of Comcast Cable (don't see any real improvement due to speed) and I tried Thunderbird over DSL and the message went right out. I will Call Comcast tonight and drop my cable access. I'm too much in bed with the DSL email service to want to change my address. I may migrate of a few months and may drop the telephone all together. Changes in my life of late makes keeping the wireline phone doubtful. I also have an email account with att.com mail (now Yahoo) and that does not works with any access, like gmail etc....See More- 9 years ago
