Comments (15)Hi little guy. I personally wouldn't say that it kills earwigs, but I will tell you that is sure discourages them. It could be all in my head, but every time I use it faithfully, I have no issues with them What I can tell you is that it will smother sucking insects that decide to make your trees a permanent home. It does not repair my trees sadly, but helps keep the good flawless growth looking that way. FYI. You can barely ever see spider mites with the naked eye ,and thrips are very good evaders of the eye. I wish you luck. Josh: Good job on keeping up with yours. I can only imagine what they would look like if you did not. I use Neptune's Harvest cold pressed made right here in Mass! Comments (105)My ears aren't pierced but I'd like to explain my wifes experience for many years ago. She had her ears pierced in 1974 at which time ear piercing was not very popular, she had been thinking about it for a while and around the time of her 16th birthday, her mum suggested that if she went and had her ears pierced, her mum, would buy her some earrings. That decided it so she went to the local jeweller in Greenford, West of London and had to make an appointment to go back the following week to be pierced, that seems so strange now with ear piercing being immediately available. the man used a device called the Simplicity Ear Piercer which effectively pushed a needle through her lobes and then inserted hinged sleeper hoops into the holes. She had to keep the sleepers in for 6 weeks weeks turning them daily. After 6 weeks she took the sleepers out and tied to get in the earrings her mum had bought her. After half an hour of prodding and poking they would not go in and so she put the sleepers back for another two weeks and went and some some studs instead. Fast forward nearly ten years and I asked her one night if she still had her sleepers - to which she said no as they had broken, but asked me why i liked them particularly. I said because wearing them would make her look like she had just had her ears pierced. No more was said, and we went on holiday a few weeks later, having arrived at the resort she handed me a little brown envelope - and said 'present for you'. Inside was a new pair of hinged sleepers which she immediately let me put in her ears and wore them for the rest of the holiday. Wow. I have asked on a few occasions if she thought about having her ears re-pierced but she always said no, one hole was enough. So I got some spring loaded silver hoops and one night when i put these on her she said she would have another hole done. So far still only the one hole, but she did wear the spring hoops in public the other week and did look so good. Not sure where the earring/piercing fascination comes from as my mum did not have pierced ears and I did not have a sister, but just wanted to share this story...See MoreWhoa...I just got an earful!! Comments (27)Oh, your last post raised HUGE red flags. The drug situation is very serious. In several ways. Unfortunately, this is another area where I've had very unfortunate experience. My SIL was demanding drs prescribe specific medications (mood elevators, narcotics, etc) to my in-laws. We don't have absolute proof, but there is circumstantial evidence that SIL was stealing those meds and subbing things like aspirin. At other times, she was doping MIL (who has Alzheimer's) up with other people's prescription sleeping pills to make caring for her easier. Then things got really hairy--SIL started stealing from MIL to support her drug habit. I'm sorry to say, we didn't believe a relative could do that--so by the time we got involved and got the courts to do something, SIL had misappropriated over a QUARTER OF A MILLION $$$$ that had been earmarked for MIL's end care. Sadly, your last post is the one that concerns me the most. You have to sit down with your husband and the far-off brother, and discuss what you're going to do to protect your MIL and her assets. Drug users have no conscience--it's the first thing drugs seem to destroy. But they're very, very, very good about scamming their relatives. And it will happen--sooner or later, for more or less $$$. You have a very serious problem on your hands. I'd strongly advise that you engage an eldercare attorney to properly set up your MIL's assets, and I'd further suggest that you and your husband need to sit down with an attorney, lay out the situation you've described here, and find out what you need to do to protect yourselves in this matter. Unfortunately, in our case, we're up over $20,000 in legal and forensic accounting fees, out of our own pockets. That doesn't include the fees that have had to be paid to the court-appointed guardian for managing MIL's affairs properly. While we've managed to stop the stealing, the situation is a long way from being resolved. I truly hope your SIL doesn't go the way mine has--but sadly, it sounds as if she's got no scruples when it comes to feeding her habit. Stop worrying about making her angry--she's USING your guilt to get over on the family. Best to face this now and get the appropriate protection in place, than to wait until you've got an expensive mess to clean up. We're 7 years into our battle, with no real end in sight. Wish someone had opened my eyes in 2002! I'm truly sitting here with my heart in my throat, thnking of the terrible time your family is likely to face. I wouldn't want to put my own worst enemy through the stress and strain we've had dealing with a thieving 'out-law' (I refuse to call her an 'inlaw' any more). My heart really goes out to you....See MoreRecord for 'Swimmers Ear'?
Comments (32)I suffer from Eustachian Tube Dysfunction, I have all my life. If my ear drums are not open I get fluid behind the ears all the time that turn into infections that have also turned into Mastoiditis NOT FUN! When I first started getting fluid in my ears the doctors would give me antibiotics and allergy meds to try and clear the infection and dry up the fluid. They would usually give it about 4 months before they'd tube my ears or my eardrum would rupture on it's own. Finally they realized it would just keep happening as soon as the tubes would fall out if I had them inserted and the eardrum closed back up. I am 46 years old. My right eardrum is completely gone and the doctors have decided to leave it that way. I have to be super careful and wear ear plugs in the shower or if I go swimming. But I am proof you do not have to have an eardrum. My left eardrum was ruptured for a long time and they also chose to leave it but I noticed around the first of the year I was getting pain and that full of fluid feeling where if I tilted my head side ways the fluid would move and the pressure would subside until I righted my head. I recently moved to Florida and had to see a new ear doctor. Even after explaining I knew what I had and needed a tube he prescribed the old antibiotic treatment and allergy meds. It of course did not work. The pain in my ear was getting severe to the point I was in tears walking around with hot compresses on it all the time. I chose to go to a different ent who looked in my ear and sent me right away to Ear surgeon in Tampa. My eardrum had grown back and retracted to the point it wrapped around the small bones in my ear. I had surgery in July to try and unwrap it but the doctor couldn't and decided to put a tube in to see if he can re-inflate. So far it isn't moving so if I go back next month and it hasn't moved the doctor plans to go in and remove my left eardrum and leave it open like my right ear. So I am living proof that ruptured eardrums aren't always that bad, they will grow back and trust me when they rupture you will know it is super painful then all that pressure and pain goes away. If your eardrum does rupture you need to wear ear plugs going into any water because any water that gets in your ear will not be stopped by the eardrum and will go all the way into your ear and can cause a massive infection. My recommendation is if it hasn't cleared up in a month see another ENT. I also have what they call glue ear. My ears drain this crap that sticks inside my ear canal and is super hard to clean off without soaking a cotton swab and loosening the gunk because if you try to clean it dry it takes your skin off....See MoreTexas_Gem
