Need help decorating above the fireplace!
Comments (10)I actually really like the look of the mirror. It's all too predictable to see a painting about the mantle. If this were my living room, I would surround it with other things. You could place a small clock in front of it or some art next to the fireplace, like you can see here. I can also see what other posts are saying about covering it, but I feel that would make the room feel much smaller. Comments (2)Love your bookends.... Going to suggest you lower your TV...looks so uncomfortably high but maybe it works for you. As for what to put on your table....how about the bookends with two or three colorful books between them. Put them on one side and a low green plant on the other side....See MoreNeed help with above the cabinets for decor

Comments (3)It does look a bit bare with just the clock, but that's an easy fix! Adding in some candle sticks on one side, maybe a small framed artwork or two, and even a plant would really help add depth and interest. You can overlap things of different sizes as well. Just make sure to leave a bit of empty space in there if you're setting various things on the ledge, as it may start feeling overcrowded. Here's an example of layering done really well. See how it feels even, but it's got lots of interest? That's the idea!...See MoreM Trevino
