Comments (39)graywings, it doesn't rub off after it's dry. As for "not after forty", well, doncha know the legs are the last thing to go :>) However, our legs may still look great, but not in the youthful, smooth skinned (inner-thighs, back of knees) way of a twenty-something. In a shortish skirt almost all 40+ look better in hose, imo. Also, to my eye, bare legs in a business skirt or dress just look a bit undressed, like a man in a suit, buttoned up white shirt and no tie, or a suited man in shoes without socks....though very urban-sexual, I know :>/ As for hose with open-toed heels: there are pantyhose that expose the toes and work great. I mostly miss hose in the winter when it's too warm ( So. Ca.) for leggings: Bare feet in shoes in winter are just not comfy, so I wear pants and socks. I hope hose come back as an excepted option....See Morevitoria regia granite--please talk me down
Comments (31)oh no no no no. I hate to disagree with Breezy, but (full disclosure, I have a busy coutertop), I think busy-ness on a countertop can be just fine. At least IME, you wind up sort of compartmentalizing 'visions' -- when you're cooking and working, you forget that you're doing so on top of a museum-quality piece of art. But when you kick back and take an eye-sweep around before shutting out the lights for the night, or bask in the glow of a friend's fresh siting, that museum-beauty is a glory to revel in. I agree with you that viewing those slabs is like walking through a museum. When visiting those yards I just got into a sort of hushed museum slumber-zone. It was one of the funnest day(s) of my life, walking around those places - almost like buying a piano. You are just strolling through beauty, natural beauty, and living it. I think it's a wonderful thing to utilize, to harness natural beauty for synthetic, cultural art. At least, I like that. And if you do, if you think those slabs are "museum quality", I think you can use that appreciation without jeopardizing utility. Again, that's been my experience. I think, personally, that some of those busy, regular, "spotty" stones look kind of vertiginous to me in terms of actually working on the surface. I'd be afraid when I look down to measure stuff out I wouldn't be able to pick the stone apart from the utensils because they would all blur together. I've never heard anyone complain of this, though. But I don't see that as such a problem when the pattern is more irregular. I don't see that kind of vertigo coming into play. And again, in my experience, during work-a-day interactions you quickly start to (which is sad), not really even notice all that beauty and movement anyway. However, it remains to be called forth in moments of calm....See MoreYes...here it is: "Faron's Fashion-Police"!! ;-)
Comments (177)I've been out of town at a conference, where I've had plenty of opportunity to observe people's dress and what looks good and not so good on certain body types. Some people just have the ability to look really well put together regardless of their age or size. OTOH, there were people with rockin' bodies, some who have to be sure to wear everything tight to show it off. I don't care for that either. This one lady with fabulous arms was only wearing Athleta dresses from what they looked like to me. I do think it's easier for men than for women. Men's clothes are also more standard sizing, but I've known big and tall men who looked great. Saw a comedy show last night where the classic comedian George Wallace joked: "Ladies, animal prints are great, but if you are larger than the the animal it represents, maybe it's not for you."...See MoreRelated Professionals
