^^^ Hahaha...I once had to buy eggs at the market while my girls were molting, I brought them home and made a point to show the eggs to the girls to remind them what they looked like. Laying started up again shortly thereafter. :) Well...we checked both incubators and candled the eggs we could see into last night. A lot of them were clear, especially the Polish eggs. :( But I don't see my Polish ladies getting much action from my roos, the dumb boys! Other eggs have chicks, but I could not tell if they were alive or not, and how fully formed they are. No peeping or activity yet from any of the eggs, but they aren't due to hatch until beginning at 8PM Saturday night. If none of these hatch, I don't know what to think...I know that both of my roo boys are getting their job done and I don't think they have fertility issues, they are healthy fellas. We did change locations for the incubators this year, to my dining room table, in a corner of a room away from windows and doors to help protect from drafts. I THOUGHT I had a great spot, but if this batch doesn't work I'm going back to putting the darned things in the kitchen. :( On top of everything else, we are having weird weather here since yesterday, supposed to continue until Tuesday--wind, rain/hail, and tornadoes, of all things! If the power goes out, I have my broody hen contingency plan...Bear, Splash and Blue are all broody and would get to sit on the eggs. :) We checked the cam last night and have it all set up and ready to go, if hatching begins we'll fire it up and I'll notify everyone. I AM MICHAEL FROM LAGOS NIGERIA have been experiencing this for the past few weeks. I did not check toilet because I never thought that mosquito can come out of frequently used water closet toilet.but each time weopen the lid a lot of mosquito fly out with many drown on the surface of the clean water in the toilet But today I made a discovery I was surprised to .see mosquitos coming from the sewage tank underground through thepipe .they are tracing the light to the toilet. Above the S portion of the wc where water is gushing out from the top after flushing there is a hole that link directly to the pipe that carries waste to the sewage .tank. mosquitos from the sewage tank are passing through the hole into WC It is a short cut into the WC without passing through the S portion that always fill with water The Only solution is to block with tissue paper. You won't see mosquito or Any toilet pest again

I know!!! What is up with all that running around by Pipevine cats before they pupate??? Maybe they are genetically programed to go on a long journey before pupation. Keeping them in an enclosure disrupts the programing, so they ramble around the enclosure for days, who knows? I want to see photos when they emerge!! Taking some to the country is great idea. I can't believe this but I am actually removing butterfly eggs!!! Ughhh!! But the A. tomentosa vines just can't handle the munching right now. I moved what was left of the potted A. macrophylla vines to a sunnier spot and, by george, they are looking better and might even grow this time!! None of these got to flower this first year, so no seeds to play with but when they grow back out, I'll try cuttings with leaves and "stapling" some vines to the dirt in the pot. There's next year to consider. :) Anna

Productive day for me, too. I cleared out the overgrown stuff around my outside water pump so I can use it for the garden. Much easier than fighting through dogs to get to the faucet in their area. Planted the elderberry I got from Bruce at SF a few years back. It was one tiny stick then so I put it in a bucket until I decided what to do with it. Then we started talking about moving so I left it to plant at the new place. It was still small, but I have 3 or 4 little twigs instead of one. Threw out some lettuce, cilantro, and a few other seeds. At this point I'm not sure what I have planted. I try to snap pics so I can reference back but I'm pretty sure I missed some. And got my lawn mower tire back on track, thanks to Bruce. It went flat & popped off the rim, so I went looking for ways to fix it. Nothing worked so I posted in the local facebook group & he offered to fix it for me. Looks like tomorrow's another nice day here, so maybe I'll get a little more done. Or the husband will be feeling up to tackling that center bed so I can start planting it.
