More questions for Paint Guy...Ben Moore 'Ben'?
Comments (13)i think that what they meant by only having regal in oil is the tinting system. regal uses an oil based tinting system while aura, natura, and ben all use the same acrylic color lock tinting system. as for ben paint it is a great paint and at a good price. with the color lock tinting system the hide is great due to the molecular make up of the tints. as the paint dries the tint molecules lock and iterlock forming a clean uniform paint film when dry. i have used aura natura and ben. don't be mislead by the fact that ben is the least expensive one of the bunch. aura is not easy to work with has a tendency to sag and run and does not dry any faster than regal. nor does aura cover in one coat. ben on the other hand is easy to use dries fast and has a durable hard finish. The marketing for aura has been aggressive and misleading. what makes aura different from regal is the tinting system. Acrylic versus oil. ben uses the same exact tints that aura uses. ben has the same hiding capabilities as aura at half the price. as my paint rep said to me ben is the contractors aura. it is green and it is good. in san francisco where i paint the decorators are now using ben. go figure....See MoreShow me your Ben Moore Green room(s)
Comments (6)Love Paris Rain... my kitchen/family room is Cheyenne Green, and I often wish I had gone one step lighter and used Paris Rain. This is the only pic I have of Cheyenne Green (the wall in the foreground). This is from our beach cottage -- DD's room in Pale Vista. This is Dacquiri Ice also in our beach house....See MoreBen Moore Pale Gray Update--Help!
Comments (24)I don’t quite know why Houzz sent me a link to this older thread but my update is this: Joan from For The Love of a House Blog knows what she’s doing. Her Ashwood was lovely in my master bedroom. Then, when we bought a new build house in 2013 I decided to try Titanium, also Ben Moore, also from her house. It read soft but tiny hint of green in my well-lit western exposure master bedroom. We paid an up charge to the builder to have a nice light taupe painted throughout the new house so my husband thought I was certifiable to be on a ladder repainting the Titanium over the new walls on the first day we had keys. Of course he was busy taking up all the carpet so he could lay wood floor the same day. The Titanium was wonderful. This past year we moved to the Deep South and I used her Gray Owl throughput the entire house we are in now. It’s my favorite and does read just a bit blue in some lights. (There May Be BM Stonington Gray in the kitchen and both baths. Just sayin’) And totally agree with 6009kitty on sample pots. Never paint without a sample on your wall. And I don’t mean a 12” square either. Light makes a lot of difference. Greenery out the window can change things too. Test it. Red...See MoreBen Moore's Yarmouth Blue and what?
Comments (5)Love butterfly granite. I'd go with something that picks up on the beige/gold tones in the granite, yet works well with Yarmouth blue...it will be warm yet neutral for both a living room and kitchen. Powell buff Philadelphia cream Butterfly You'd need to look at your specific cut of granite though to get the right shade....See More- 7 years agolast modified: 7 years ago
