Comments (103)sorry, didn't read all, but I would just move the bed over a foot!!! it would drive me crazy to have it a foot (18"??) off the wall for a foot of view! the left sided person would still enjoy it and the r side would just have to scooch over to see it-- wake up, love it and hop out of bed to the window seat to better enjoy it!! if I was staying in the room, I would probably take the liberty and move the bed over so that it sat fully on the wall myself! I would leave the brass alone, tho would be pretty shined up too! either looks good! love everything else!! what an awesome guest room!!!!!...See MoreHelp! Need new WTs in the MBR!
Comments (18)mleaving_Marji: Thanks for the detailed specs for the measurements. I do prefer a center draw as they are presently. Here is a better picture from before when they still looked good: Overall I have decided I'd like to keep the same orientation, dimensions on the wall and similar color (other possibility I am considering would be a ivory/tan linen). After getting a quote for custom window treatments (WTs) from JC Penney's I am back to debating the grommet top drapes with sheers layered below. I now realize my inner rod can be placed closer to the wall, esp. if I do not require a traverse rod, and so the outermost rod need not extend so far. Are grommet drapes really not practical for daily opening and closing? I could do that for about 1/4 the price of the JC Penney's draperies and I don't think I'll find a much better price elsewhere. These are the ones I am considering which is similar to what I have now (the sage/moss green color): I could get similar fabric in custom, which I like now, but would then feel locked into using for many years; then I wonder if it'd be safer to get an ivory color - but does it really make sense to spend so much on something that I don't really love? With the grommet top ones, I could always change them 3-4 years from now if I feel the need for a change. It must seem like I am very indecisive. I just don't want to make another expensive decorating mistake as even without custom these is a sizable expense once you factor in the rod(s), sheers and outer drapes....See Moreliving room help
Comments (173)The room looks good now and is more functional than it was before. The only problem with the TV wall is that it's a little empty. But I'm guessing if you're looking at getting a new TV in a year, you'll be getting a larger one which will help to fill the wall. (Another reason for keep it on the current wall: a larger TV probably won't fit between the windows.) For now, I'd look at arranging all your art and maybe even your clock on the TV wall. The other walls behind the sofas can get away with being bare. When it's time to replace the TV, come back here and ask for help BEFORE you hang it. Design the whole wall at once so everything looks intentional....See Moreliving room needs help
Comments (69)The only curtain guaranteed to survive washing is a decent sheer. You can't expect lined panels to survive washing. You need fabric.........so I will suggest you find a friend who sews. Or you learn to stitch a straight line, which is all that curtains will require, as will pillows. You also need these full enough to look good. SHEETS. Yes, sheets. Two KING sheets. Which will mean two sheet sets, and use the bottoms to make a couple pillows, or use them on your bed.. For these? You need 250.00 bucks, and some elbow grease labor, yours, or someone else's. Want them lined? Then you buy flat white king at the local discount joint, and I would pre wash BOTH in cold, before sewing. But a king flat sheet will give you about 110 inches length and width for each panel. A QUEEN will give you same length, a bit less width of course. But the queen below is on sale Company store. Four flats, 40.99 in queen gives you a lot of fabric for under 200.00 bucks. . Even a single sheet is going to be 90 wide and 108 long,.. Rare is the patterned sheet sold individually. This is. Bottom line is, your wish list keeps exceeding your pocket book. Money, time. energy. If you don't have the first, you need much more of the second two.
