a nice message to our new family ..... ?

I'd like to find a message/card to send to the new family of our son's in-laws...

something like... we'd like to welcome them in to our family now as well as theirs as our children start a new life & family together!

I have no idea how to find something? poem or something already printed to express this better than I can!

Thanks for any ideas!

I think the way you put it was better than any poem you'd find written by someone else.

Do you live close enough to get together with them? Have you met before? Did the couple just get engaged, or are they already married?

Yes, we have met them & the wedding is in a couple months. I just hoped to find something nicely printed for this (I am no good with words or making something!) I shall try some of the local card shops & see if they might have something .... The wedding is in a couple of months so I guess I have some time yet. So often the in-laws on both sides are not acknowledged in the blending of the two families & I wondered if someone else had done this?

Hey don't be knockin' Tauruses now. Am one...married to one....sighhhhh... Neither of us is trainable unless we want to be. I have, however, 'converted' him to understanding that starting dinner before I get home is a good thing. That's so cool. And your post made me think of when we went to dinners at Canny Camp and the looks on all those faces when 5 or 6 campers jumped up from the table and took pics of the plates, lol.

Need help organizing family papers in our new kitchen

Greta ~ Wow! That's exactly the type of organizer I was looking for!The wooden organizer is small enough to fit on the wall between the SGD and new peninsula (right next to the mail basket on the counter). The mail slots will be accessible to the family but not on the countertop. And I like that it has 8 sections... with 2 adults and 2 kids we can each have 2 sections of our own. And if there's something too big to fit, then the center partition can be removed. I purchased a wicker mail basket from Ballard's that I'll keep on the countertop and use in conjunction with the wood organizer. The wicker basket holds current magazines and schedules. It's working out quite well. Talley_Sue ~ your DH and my DH must somehow be related! Yes, he wants to see his catalogs and car maintenance coupons, etc. But if I leave them on the DR table he moves them onto the chair and vice versa. When I finally get on his case about them, he'll move them into the bedroom where they enter the black hole beside his bed. (House is too small for an office!) Hopefully the mail slots will work... at least we won't be shuffling papers between the table and the chairs!

They are adorable!!! I wish our pound would have deals like that. Ours charge $75 dollars a pop, whether it is a cat or dog. We never have discounts at ours. I want to adopt 2 kitties but just haven't had the extra $$$ to spend right now. We just had to have our 16 year old kitty put down, just about broke my heart!!! Our other kittie is 15 and I swear he is going through a second kittenhood, he is into everything! We just came home to broken balls all over the wood floor from him swatting them off of the tree...the brat!!! So I guess my Max does need a couple buddies to snuggle and play with. You surely got you a cute pair of kittens!!! Deb

I would send them a little gift -- something you make or bake would be ideal, but it doesn't have to be -- or some flowers or a plant, with an accompanying note that can be nice and short. Just "So glad we are going to be family. Looking forward to many happy years together. Love, vieja & Mr. vieja" will be plenty and in my opinion much better than a poem, which might feel a bit too much. You can do it now or closer to the wedding. A floral arrangement the weekend of the wedding for their hotel room (or home, if the wedding is in their town) would be fine.
