Comments (1)We are in an area where permits don't take long. (A day or two, I think). A vinyl pool can go very fast if you don't run into problems. I think we broke ground around June 1st in 2004, and were swimming by the 17th or 18th. By I wish I had taken longer in the planning process. I discovered this board too late and used it only to answer specific questions. It was later that I read more posts and found so many good ideas. The more you read and study the less you will have to second-guess later. Size, depth, location of steps with regards to prevailing winds, distance from house, dedicated lines, automatic covers, ratio of deep/shallow water, color of liner, border or not, vinyl over steps and on and on......
