Questions on blue mouse ears and mighty mouse
Comments (4)Thanks guys! I'm relieved to hear that BME grows faster than I thought and a bit dismayed that Mighty grows so slow. These two little guys were expensive and are so tiny. We are planning on moving from UT to Florida in two years and if these guys grow that slow I might just take them with me as I've really been wanting these two for a long time and I would hate to start from scratch. I plan on leaving them in the ground even though we do not have any squirrels in our yard. Only problem we have are racoons and they don't seem to bother our plants (just our ducks). Is there a particular reason why you would need to pot them up? I don't mind having it in the ground due to it's size as I can just plant some annuals around it. They are both planted in front of my hydrangeas and they tend to steal the show anyways....See MoreLimey Lisa, Peanut, Blue Mouse Ears. Feedback?
Comments (19)I am in zone 5, and my 5 GEs are doing wonderfully. I mix a small bucket of leaf mold into the hole, plant them high, give them water, fertilize annually and they grow. On the other hand, h.'Earth Angel' (3 of them) are doing poorly here. In respect to h. 'Blue Mouse Ears', they are growing nicely here. Bernd...See MorePumpkin on Blue Mouse Ears
Comments (16)Thank you Babka for the compliment. It is wonderful that you want to print my picture and put it on your fridge! Hostas are so wonderful and seeing their beauty is a real joy. I know you agree. Thanks Jo. I never thought of submitting a fall photo to the Hosta Library. I wonder whether they would be accepted. Speaking for myself, I love to see hostas in all stages of development. It gives a better picture of what can be expected. McTavish, wonderful pictures as always! Great colors! My favorite is your Whirlwind photo. It very much looks like a GE....See MoreBlue minis, not Blue Mouse Ears?
Comments (15)I think I've figured out how to do this. Here are a couple small blue suggestions. The first picture has Slim and Trim and Gemstone in the front. If I remember right I bought them from Sebright Nurseries in Oregon. The Blue center front is Baby Blue Eyes. It has less sun and light than the two above but all three have grown really well....See Morenicholsworth Z6 Indianapolis
