I'm so sorry about your accident. Hope your hand heals quickly. I'm right handed and had an accident years ago after which my right hand was in a cast for almost three months.

I'm sorry it happened at all but you are right, it could have been so much worse!

Oh my gosh! How awful - but you're definitely correct that it could have been a whole lot worse. One of my childhood friends lost three fingers to a lawn mower when he was a teenager.

Thank goodness it wasn't worse and that the pain meds are working. Did you play the piano prior to this mishap?

I think I remember a thread here recently about probiotics, but i can't find it. I'll be on antibiotics for at least a week, and am inclined toward a case of the beasties. Any recommendations for probiotics?

I've used various brands of probiotics, but my doc has always cautioned me against the supplements while I was on antibiotics. He's a big fan of active culture yogurt, though, instead.

I forgot to ask the doctor, but I asked the pharmacist. She said yes to both. Maybe I'll do yogurt first.

Oh, I shudder to think what could have happened. You must feel blessed despite the pain and inconvenience. As a pianist, you probably have more dexterity in your left hand than most people. When I broke my right wrist, I spent a lot of time pulling weeds with my left hand. It got me outside and it was something useful I could do one-handed.

Yes, actually, I can do a lot of things left handed reasonably well. I'm of no use to my boss, but in a few days I can go out in my own yard and pick up sticks and pull weeds.

At least, you can stand up and walk around.... LOL.... jokes aside, I hope, the healing will proceed as fast as possible... and I am glad, you are not in pain.

I always take Theralac when I'm on antibiotics (which is rather often). I learned about it from my doctor. I get it on Amazon.

That is one scary injury you have! I've heard of people injuring a foot with a lawnmower, but never fingers. Fingers contain a lot of nerves, and I know from experience how much they can hurt. Best of luck to you!

Sorry that this happened, but very, very glad that it is basically minor, in the big scheme of things.

That's a shame. And of course I'm trying to imagine what you were doing that your lawnmower got fingers, not feet. Fingers can be just about the worst, its amazing how many times a day we use, bump or hit our hands. I hope you stay comfortable today and have really good news at your Monday appointment.

Kefir seems to be a better (than yogurt) probiotic for me. Trader Joe's has a couple of fruit drink versions that are quite good tasting ....

Will the probiotic help with yeast infection? That's my bigger concern than digestion. The pharmacist said yes.
