Comments (34)LOL!!! yeah, parrots are a wee bit noisier than 'keets. and mine are small parrots- not the ones who can REALLY make noise. they give so much back, though- they are like extra kids. funny, smart & silly, they keep life interesting (and aggravating sometimes). not to mention makng my ears ring. :) i'm 36, so i have seen some d.v.d. shows, but it was when i was small. never saw that episode. i'm thankful my jays mostly stay up in the pines and leave me and my songbirds be. they & the crows have scream fights up there sometimes. i've had corpulant cats before, and know how hard it is to get them to slim down. they simply aren't interested. the only way i ever found was to limit what they could eat- fed them once a day, as much as they were supposed to eat for the day, rather than a bowlful they could eat at will. when we moved here and they were allowed outside during the day, they slimmed down a lot just from the extra excercise. they've been gone a while now, and i miss them, but with allergies & asthsma, and now birds, we won't be getting more. tam...See MoreDiane's Husband had an accident
Comments (22)Great news, Diane! I know it will be a great relief to have him and his miracle cell phone back home again. Y'all need to let his cell phone manufacturer know about the phone's miraculous recovery too. Maybe they'll put Steve and his phone in a commercial. Hmmmm? Positive craziness at your house? I guess that means everything is getting back to normal. If there were no craziness, y'all wouldn't be y'all. : ) I'm glad he'll be home soon and think that is great news, BUT I don't envy you having him at home in the sense that you're going to have a heck of a time making him behave himself and heal fully. He doesn't strike me as being a sitting-around-the-house-patiently-waiting-for-his-body-to-heal kind of guy. LOL I have a funny feeling that the minute you escape to your happy place to pot up a few plants, he'll try to sneak out the back door to work on a few projects of his own. How in the earth are you going to get him to sit still long enough to heal those broken bones? Dawn...See MoreI won't call this Chicken Dinner.....yet
Comments (23)I grew up on a farm, and we had chickens also - just for the eggs. It was scary sometimes collecting eggs because I would frequently find cottonmouth snakes in the barn, and they are very dangerous. I liked the chickens when I was very young and used to chase them around to pet them. Of course they didn't like being caught, but I would chase them until they got tired and gave up. I didn't name them because they were all white, and I couldn't tell them apart. After we no longer had chickens, a couple of wild (or loose) peacocks (one peacock and one peahen) decided to move into the empty chicken coop. The peacock moved in first and was a bit neurotic because he wasn't getting enough attention, and so he would strut for anything with a pair of eyes, including my agoraphobic cat, whom he terrorized whenever I took him outside. The cat was named Tina, but that was before I found out he was a male. He was married to my other cat Eichendorff, whom I called "Ike" for short, although I had to have the marriage annulled. Comments (49)but prof. nice guy didn't ask about staying or leaving... exactly. He said he wanted to meet a woman who was more fun *& that his therapist encouraged him to do so*. which sounds like a lie. In fact, his initial post reads a little like a singles ad ("my sisters-in-law describe me as 'funny & sweet'", "I want to meet a woman who likes to laugh", etc) His request for 'advice' reads a lot like he's fishing for permission/approval/blessing,("it would be nice to keep my marriage but be emtionally close to someone, too") Snort! & his statement that his wife is willing to have sex without emotional involvement but he wants the involvement sounds really really strange, since it's backwards to what usually happens (woman wants emotional closeness, man willing to have sex without it). like he made it up & he's seeing what response it'll get. One of the worst experiences of my life was many years ago, when I was young & inexperienced & a married man caused me a lot of aggravation, but, as a result, my "married man on the prowl" detector still works pretty well:. I had been dating this guy for several weeks when I learned that he was married. only, as he said, since it didn't have anything to do with what went on between us, he didn't think he needed to mention it. He saw nothing wrong with lying to me, lying to his wife, complicating my life, his wife's life, his children's lives, heck, he wasn't worried about complicating *anybody's* life, as long as he could have dinner/clean house/charming children...& dates. It was degrading to be manipulated & lied to like that, it was mortifying to discover that I was the "other woman", & it was humiliating to extricate myself from the situation & answer the questions my friends asked about the "new guy" I had been so happy about. but the guy sort-of mentally shrugged & decided that I was just as crazy/needy/irrational as his wife, *since I was having a good time*... until I found out about this little bit of (irrelevant & superfluous) information. This is a married man on the prowl, looking for approval/justification, & he posted this to see what kind of objections he'd get, so he can refine his approach to the next "woman who likes to laugh" that he runs into in the real world. betcha....See Moreaok27502
