Help! Citrus tree dropping yellow leaves and some twig dieback.

Robert Crowder

We have an improved Meyer Lemon tree in our office that looks to be dropping many leaves due to significant yellowing and some leaf drying. We have taken leaf samples to the nursery and they said to cut back watering to less water more but slightly more often (We were doing a more thorough watering every 1.5 to 2 weeks) and to add a nitrogen-rich organic fertilizer. We added this soil amendment 1 week ago and have still noticed that the leaves are falling and have spread from just the bottom to some of the higher branches and we have some leaf dieback on lower branches.

We are going to get this tree out into nature for natural light and warmer temperatures but that won't be possible for about 4 weeks.

My questions is, are we on the right track to get this tree into shape? Any tips are much appreciated.
