I consider myself to be above average in the artistic department... NOT bragging but know I can draw well. I did painted furniture when "shabby chic" was in. Can do a pretty good job of trompe l'oeil... usually have a broken "egg" painted on kitchen floor... eventually wears off ceramic tiles. Eventually, taught myself how to do that "one step" painting by Donna Dewberry.

I took organ lessons as a kid and can read music... at least the treble clef and prefer few ot NO flats/sharps. Never got the bass clef since what I learned was pretty much all chords. Would LOVE to learn piano... especially gospel style. I have a good "ear" and can hear when things are NOT in key... NOT claiming to be a great "vocalist" by any means!!

Pretty good cook. Not a lot of "gourmet" stuff, but know what goes together (no fish with chocolate) to do a "chopped" dinner.

I can cook or bake almost anything and have been told by several people that I am very good. I can make dishes from many different countries, going from gourmet to simple. I love to cook.

I have lots of hobbies, knitting, crocheting, weaving and other domestic arts. A new hobby I took up at 45 was glass bead making and metal smithing. I love using a torch.

Gardening is something I have been doing since I was a kid. I like to try new more difficult things to grow from seeds or cuttings. I have grown roses from seeds.

My talent when I was a school nurse was to get the students to not fear coming into the clinic. For many of them (I worked in poor inner city schools) the word 'nurse' was associated with getting a shot. Many of them didn't want to come into the clinic or talk to me at first.

I decorated the clinic so it was homy, had a special chair for them to sit on when they came to talk to me so that it was a conversation between the student and me rather than adult towering over them.

I remember a parent who told the principal I was lying when I told her that I had looked at her child's eardrum with an otoscope because, she said, her child would never allow anyone to look at her ear without screaming and carrying on.

The parent (ready for a showdown) came into the clinic, and I was telling her child that the otoscope was a flashlight and shining it all over including at the stuffed animals and she was laughing, and while Mom stood there I took a look at her child's ear, no problem.

It is not a big fancy talent, but it helped a lot of little people feel less scared over the years.

I used to think I could sew pretty well, but my current project keeps taking turns for the worse. Otherwise, nothing special that I can think of.

DH, on the other hand, is a Mr. Fixit whiz. If it's broken, he can fix it. Electrical (EE degree), plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, automotive, woodworking, computers. He's spent the last two days elbow deep in the engine of my car, replacing important parts. His engineering brain is amazing. Could be why his home repair business does so well!!

Lucille yes that was a HUGE talent. Once upon a time most children were petrified of a nurse or doctor. You had an entire school full of children to care for, and easing their fears was major. Easing children's fears no matter what thas them scared is a huge accomplishment. Good job Lucille.

I'm an excellent cook and baker. I used to be a keen gardener. I now have to limit this skill to directing others! I have a great eye for garden design and interior design, fashion. I also have very good instincts (still working on following them!).

I've always been terrible at sports, never sewed to my own standards. I am good at fixing things, and am very good with my electronic devices - my children call me their "Computer Nerd Mother". Can't knit worth a darn but was once good at needlepoint (I could see better then).

Scott, they are not much larger than an American quarter, so good eyesight (which I no longer have) and a steady hand is necessary too. Thank goodness for magnifiers cuz I've reached the point that I need them!

When I was working, I was better than most of my peers about taking large amounts of financial data, arranging it for analysis, and summarizing what it meant for non-financial managers. My first mentor, 35 years ago, had a big reputation for accuracy, completeness, and tenacity. She let me help her hand copy data from huge stacks of accordian-style computer printouts, onto a huge accounting pad -- like, as large as two sheets of a regular newspaper taped together. Then we'd use a calculator to add the columns across, and the rows up and down, and double check that the answer was the same, to the penny, in both directions. I was so proud when she told me "good job!" She would have appreciated the power of personal computers and modern automated spreadsheets. I was lucky to have known her at the start of my career.

I can knit, crochet, and sew, sort of. I enjoy photography, reading, crossword puzzles, not bad at cooking and baking.

I am good at remembering people's names.

I am very good at saving $$ on groceries. I clip, print, use digital coupons, and have several apps that I use for groceries that give me money on top of that. I cashed out one app in the spring for $500 for a trailer hitch, and that have has another $300 on it I plan to put towards a 4 bike carrier. Another app has $300, a couple more have $100. another pays immediately on paypal even if its only 10 cents! And yet another pays me to enter a store and scan about 6 items,

Other talents? I can give a cat subQ fluids all by myself. I'm tweaking my cleaning-learning new tips and tricks for a FB group, I'm pretty good on the Quizup app.

I can size up a person's character within seconds of meeting them. A very useful tool for the job I am in and it has made me excel in that area. A couple of times I was told by DH I was wrong. But later, he found out I was right and told me so.

I competed in Ballroom Dancing for years, but can't anymore.

Made a living as a Commercial Artist for years too.

Have been told I could sell anything lol.

Am a good organizer and trouble shooter.

Elizabeth, I'm also not musically gifted although when I was younger I thought I was all that behind my ice cream scoop microphone. Until I heard myself recorded. Haha

I'm a good looker upper. I research different things every day and read as many different sources as possible. I'm not sure if it's a super power but I super enjoy gathering information. Several years ago I found info that helped me overcome my disabling migraines almost completely when nothing else ever worked.

I can design and 'cut' gem stones. (The cutting process is actually grinding.)

I can ride and maintain a motorcycle. (I don't do that any more.)

I yet remember how to perform and apply basic calculus operations.

I'm good at raising orphan, baby animals....especially kittens and possums. I am a very good cook. I am very good with plants and animals. I can piss people off without even trying.

I enjoy woodworking and am getting better (with lots of oops) all the time. I also enjoy designing finishes for a room or house and am frequently told by visitors how much they like my living room or ....

I rode horses for years, but don't see that as any kind of special talent.

I can do a lot of things around the house, sew, embroider, can any kind of food, bake, cook in a wood burning stove plus bake in it, draw, and in the past would paint the house inside and out, know how to saddle a horse and ride it, plus put a harness on and hitch to a buggy and drive it, know how to fish in a river, I also used to milk cows, put out a garden. I am sure there are many out there that do the same thing so we don't think of this as talent, just things we do.

I'm good at gardening, especially vegetable gardening. I start my own seeds for tomatoes and peppers and direct sow many others when it's warm enough. I also grow many perennials, especially daylilies. I've always been athletic and keep active by running and working out now. Used to play volleyball a lot and DH and I sometimes go on a snow ski trip.

I used to do a lot of needlework, especially cross stitch embroidery and needlepoint but don't do that much anymore due to my eyesight and patience. I also play the piano and sing. DH has a beautiful tenor voice and we sing in a big Christmas choral performance every year together. He also plays trumpet.

Not too many. I can do a little Native Beadwork and I crochet basic things: scarves and blankets.

And I can smile a pretend to like you if you're a customer whose extremely rude but there are days I give what I get... ;)

I think riding a horse is a talent. Not everyone can do it. Do you ride eastern or western style?

I am a seamstress, seems to be a talent that not many do these days.

I'm a pretty good bargain shopper. It makes everything else possible.......the cooking, whole house remodeling, sewing, gardening. I think being good at something is just a matter of sticking with it till it's done right on multiple projects. ?

I can do sculpture, watercolors, oils, any kind of painting, also a wood carver, potter, good at cooking and improvising I can sing and dance, I can back a big boat down a ramp and get it in to the water, I can drive the boat. I can't ski or skate or do any sports nor do I like any sport but tennis.

Decorating with antiques.

I'm great at lying around the beach and swigging down rum drinks, followed up by relaxing in the hot tub. All in the Caribbean, of course. If unavailable, I'd take the Gulf Coast.

Scott - I rode English and eventually settled into just competing in Dressage.

I'm the king of curmudgeonism. I'd would have made a great replacement for Andy Rooney. I'm a whiz at pessimism and cynicism, and I excel at at sarcasm and snark. I consider myself the quintessential 'grumpy old man'.

On a more practical note, I built my house, I can lay block, frame, and roof. I can raise and process all manner of fruit and veg. I've raised horses, cows, chickens and goats. I'm pretty good at forecasting my local weather. My first love is woody plants, especially trees. I've been planting my own arboretum for the last 32 years, I'll die before it's finished.

I love making quilts and have been told I have a good sense of color. I'm a pretty good cook and very much enjoy playing duplicate bridge.

Wow! So many with so many impressive talents!

I've always considered myself kind of a "Jack of all trades but master of none". I can do many things, but don't really excel (at least to my own expectations for myself) at any of them. In school, throughout my teen years, I played 3 different instruments, trumpet (in the high school band), accordion, and piano, just for my own entertainment. I've always enjoyed pencil drawing, and that progressed into using pastels, then into painting with oils. Never sold any paintings or drawings, but never tried to, either. My Dad taught me the basics of drawing, shading, etc., when I was pretty young, but I've never had any professional art lessons, or took any art courses, just self-taught. Also did some sculpture with Cell-u-Clay (I think that was the name of it). I love making folk-art type figures with that. Learned to sew while in high school. Made many of my own clothes. Continued to make most of my own clothes until I was in my late 50's. Also made most of my sons' shirts until they graduated high school. Especially the western style, with the fancy yokes. They loved them! I did custom sewing during the late '60s & 70's. Used to make all of the rodeo show clothes for a girl that competed in a lot of rodeos. That was fun, using all those shiny, glittery fabrics! Coming up with and adding the 'extras' that made them unique and show-stopping. Taught myself, using instruction books, to crochet. That was a hobby for many years, just taken up again fairly recently.

I've done some woodworking. Refinished some furniture in my earlier years. In the late '80s I was part of a group that opened an all volunteer arts and crafts store here. I was doing ceramics at that time. Sold many ceramic items through that store. Also a lot of crafts made from wood; door harps, angels, etc. Also sold baked goods there. Mostly cookies, some cakes and a lot of bread.

I am a very good baker, but don't bake much anymore, none of us need all those extra calories! I do a pretty good job of cooking, too, when the spirit moves me. But just don't enjoy it as much, doing just for myself.

I keep telling myself I'm going to take up both the oil painting and the sculpting again. I've gotten as far as accumulating most of the needed supplies. I guess I'm hesitant to actually dig in because I've developed quite a tremor in my hands, so I have doubts about whether or not I'll be able to do either one. I'm hoping the crocheting I'm doing now, along with some adult coloring will help to control or at least minimize the tremors.

Crossword puzzles, writing, at one time-cooking and sewing.

I'm a pretty good cook and baker, or so I've been told! I can also read complex publications and understand them, and I write reasonably well. I can sew, build a fire, and design and stick to a household budget. Talking to just about anybody is a skill that I have and something that I enjoy. I have a very fast typing speed.

I can grow stuff. Indoor plants and outdoor flowers, shrubs, and trees. Not interested in vegetable gardening, though.

I can write. I used to be a news writer, and I can 'turn a phrase' with the best of them if I do say so myself.

I can get along with almost anybody if I have to. In my career I worked with/for some unlikeable people, but I got through it just fine. And I am a filing/organizing maniac.

I have a special talent as a good waiter. (Not restaurant waiter).

When I go to appointments I'm a good waiter. Never bothers me. I always arrive early. Have a good book & my phone & pass the time easily.

My Grandma was a good waiter too. Mom on the other hand isn't. She gets very impatient & angry.

Once I was a very good serious gardener, taught ballroom dancing at Arthur Murray's, learned to ride, to knit and sew, to write poetry, to do natural crafts, etc. Today my best talent is trying, trying and trying to continue to learn.

As of now I am specializing in being a HAS BEEN. I used to be a quick wit, where humorous sarcasm reigned. Loved remodeling houses, and did a lot of the work my self. I was a writer and have many pages of my writings to prove it. Now it seems like I have had a variety of health problems which have slowed me down, thus making me the official HAS BEEN. And that is not a bit of fun!!

You all have some great talents. I have been told I am a good cook, baker but I don't cook "gourmet" or make fancy pastries or cakes. I have a lot of patience, don't mind standing in lines unless my back is hurting. I am good at hand needlework like cross stitch and embroidery (taught by both Grandmothers), but put a sewing machine in front of me and I am lost. I can knit and crochet as long as it is square, rectangle or scarf shaped haha. I love words - I am a good writer, love to solve hard crossword puzzles, good at Scrabble using the actual tiled board but suck at Words with Friends. I am also a good researcher, I used to sit in the library for hours looking things up but so much easier now with the internet. I used to be a good troubleshooter especially when it came to office machines. Anything new that came into the office I was given the manual. I am good at doing most jobs I have done except terribly bad at sales which is why I quit banking. With some help of co-workers I can take in applications, recruit, interview, hire, place and set up training classes for over 700 election workers in less than 36 days every 4 years or sometimes less - that is my major talent I guess and something I look forward to doing. I have a talent for doing many things but I master at none of them.

Very good at cooking and talented at really listening to people.

One of the nicest compliments I ever got was from my husband when he said that I was resourceful. I do like to puzzle out a problem and come up with a solution. I'm also fairly artistic and have success with painting and sewing and quilting.

I can play the spoons.

Elizabeth's answer reminded me that I can and do parallel park in any spot. I always back into parking spots so that I can drive out, as well as parallel park.

I didn't realize this was a talent, but I too can parallel park into any spot. I can also, without slipping back, start a standard on a hill.

I play volleyball well. Even though I don't hit as hard as others we play with, I'm really hard to block. Plus my newly formed co-rec team just finished the season in first place in our league, and just last night won the end-of-season playoffs.

I can fix most things and do plumbing, electrical, carpentry, tiling, and have even remodeled entire rooms or apartments on my own.

I am a fabulous cook. Frequently when were at a potluck people will seek me out to make sure they try some of whatever I brought before its gone or before they've filled up on other things. Also frequently at restaurants if my wife or I order something similar to a dish I make, mine is better.

I can debug programming code in a programming language I don't know (and I don't know any). I've freaked out many programmers when I ask them for their code so I can debug......they know I'm not a programmer! LOL!

Does putting my legs behind my neck while in a sitting position count lol.

I forgot that I can also parallel park & can drive a stick shift and start one up on a hill without slipping! All of us must have learned around the same time! My Dad made me drive on 'suicide hill' in our small town and do that before he would hand over our car. This was in 1964 when I got my license. Man, that is one steep hill too!

It's so hard to even find a car with a stick these days. I've been trying to find one (or borrow one from a good friend) so I can teach my DGD to drive one.
