Oh good! Yes we have had a good surprises and believe me we can use it all for the house.

Yes, I got $140 from our utility company. It was a settlement but those things usually only get you about $10 so I was thrilled with $140! I have had a few other little things but this was the best one so far!!

I got an insurance settlement that took about 3 years to pay, and that is the money I used to buy Val.

We just received a insurance dividend for $1.10, but I have to admit that we didn't bury any money.

Sort of, not really. I had to pay hundreds in taxes this year. My employer changed how they were paying us late in the year, and I ended up with less being taken out (I plan each year, in January, so I get back/pay about $100 each year). This year was all wrong! I didn't have enough time to adjust it. Then, my son sliced his foot open on Christmas break. That was another couple hundred. Guess what my mom gave me? $$$ for no reason. I broke even. I guess breaking even is better than going in the hole.

I didn't know about burying money. But last month, our Credit Union distributed money as a thank you for continued patronage. They deposited $300 in our account! I didn't ask any questions. :)

I did bury money this year and received a check a few days ago that was unexpected. When I cashed it yesterday the teller asked if I wanted an escort out to my car...

.it was 2.10. Lol

I didn't bury any money and I found a $20 bill a couple weeks ago.

Maybe my brain is foggy because I have a headache, but this doesn't make sense to me. The first time I read the first sentence, it sounded to me as if you had to pay $75 to test drive a Lexus. But you're receiving a gift card, so that must mean that you test drove a Lexus and as a thank you for doing so, you will receive a $75 gift card.

Still doesn't make sense. Since when does Lexus have to pay people to test drive their cars?

Sorry for the confusion, I thought it was clear. Yes, you get a postcard in the mail asking you to test drive a Lexus. You get compensated $75 for your time.

We have gotten this offer only once before, so it's not often. You then have to register online with a code and in about 6 weeks we'll get the gift card.

I did this New Years Eve. So far...learned in January that my prescription drug coverage was going down $5 a month, my cell phone bill went down $24 a month. I got a refund of $140 from Duke Energy and found a total of $1.76 on my various walks. All this occurred after I donated my buried $ to Special Olympics.

I asked, "Since when does Lexus have to pay people to test drive their cars?"

Interesting. I've never heard of that being done here in California.

If you are interested, maybe you could call a local dealer. The monthly lease was higher than what we currently pay on either of our leased cars. But, it was a really nice car and I would consider it possibly in the future.

The first time it happened, they didn't have a sales rep available so they just gave us the code and we didn't do the test drive.

Car companies do various incentives like that. Once there was one that gave a free Coach purse to test drive their new car featuring Coach interior elements. I still have my Coach purse.

With only a few exceptions, all brands and models have competitors. All companies, even brands that are up-market from Lexus, offer incentives of various kinds to potential buyers and Lexus is no different in that regard.

I bought a brand new Lexus from a local Lexus dealership in 2013. There are only two Lexus dealerships in the greater Sacramento area; the next closest is in the San Francisco Bay area. Prior to my buying the Lexus, I was considering getting a new Mercedes or BMW. I've never received, or even seen, an incentive to test drive any of those brands in the greater Sacramento area. I don't doubt that they exist elsewhere -- I've just never seen or heard about them.

I am still waiting for any found money, :)

My buried money just paid off! In the mail today a check for almost $500! An escrow overage from the mortgage company it says. Never had one of those. Plus my monthly payment dropped considerably.

my sister buried money/ She just got a letter today that told her SS hasn't been paying her enough since she started drawing on her husbands SS. They are sending her a check for 3800.00
