Glam laundry room versus laundry/bath, which would you choose?
Comments (31)enduring, thanks, you bring up a lot of good points. i noticed in my existing laundry room that the tiles are all loose. i had assumed it was just because it is old and in need of a refresh, but wonder now if this is an indication of a poorly located washer? i also see that the dryer vents out onto the roof (a lot of old lint here). i didn't know there were ventless dryers! i will have to read up on those. thank you! Jan, initially i didn't think I should do the laundry in the smaller bath since that bath is small as it is. but the exterior wall of that bath is on my deck, which would be much better to clean out the dryer vents that way. so your and hemina's suggestion of moving it to the other bath is warming up to me. i agree with you regarding the attic not being worth tapping into. Laura, thanks for those suggestions. I do think we need a second bath and do feel it will add value. i also am thinking about having the upstairs laundry be a secondary unit stowed away somewhere, and putting the main laundry in my mudroom, since it is closer to where I am most of the day. perhaps a laundry chute would be a fun and useful item to add. i need to work on the location and concept of how i do laundry a bit more, think through all of my home's issues too. thank you so much everyone. it has been such helpful feedback!...See More4 Grout Samples with Marble Backsplash - which would you choose
Comments (37)@Stephanie - glad you got the feedback you were looking for just in time. We almost went with the plantinum option 4 based on the recommendation of the tile guy. Then we insisted on the samples! Good luck with your project. @Flo - thanks for the offer. Had the paint already on by the time I saw your note. I was between SW pure white, snowbound and alabaster. Had samples made but the backsplash and countertops were already covered up lol. I had a small tile sample to use. Went with Alabaster, I know it has a hint of yellow, but it matched the baseboard and doors in the kitchen which I wasn’t getting painted. I am now second guessing my decision and thinking that I should have done pure white...See MoreWhich would you choose? Bridge v. pull-down kitchen faucet
Comments (18)I am not a fan of a bridge faucet for the reasons mentioned here. Also dislike a side sprayer. It’s not as good water pressure and I don’t like that you have to keep gripping the side spray handle for it to keep spraying. I am with @darbuka about the Kohler Artifacts kitchen faucet. Besides being quite a looker, I really like the good ergonomics feel of the sprayer. You can set the spray on, and walk away for a few seconds while it sprays your colander of fruit or vegetables. And I like that it has 3 spray modes - regular, berry (a soft spray), and a sweep spray that is in a fan shape so that you can spray a dinner plate with one motion....See MoreWhich would you choose?
Comments (37)We are in lockdown, not quarantine. Quarantine is much stricter. Like the Australian system where you are shut in a hotel room for ten days. Meals left at the door. We are allowed outdoor exercise once a day which is basically walking, running, cycling etc. in parks or countryside. You are not supposed to drive to exercise. It should be from your front door. All sports facilities and clubs are closed. You could ride if you have your own horse and stable I imagine but all shared facilities are closed. All non essential shops are shut as are all cafes, bars and restaurants....See MoreUser
