Hudson Reed Faucets - Good or Bad ?
Comments (55)@ Vinita Bali Actually, Vinita, the defective casting was probably new, just not very well cast. Casting, whether sand or mold casting, is not always a precise process. The flow of the molten brass may not be even, resulting in voids in the finished product that engineers call "holidays" (Why "holidays", I don't know. We call them "holes".). If the holes are big enough, the casting is scrapped and melted down to make a new casting. But, some companies patch small holes with a solder or braising material. Not the best solution, but it works most of the time. Not in your case, however. Looks like the solder patch was a "cold patch" that did not adhere well to the underlying brass. My point is that if Hudson Reed (actually Limitless Digital Group, Ltd.) says it was a new casting, it most likely was. When the company admitted the defect, but denied your claim, did they deny their obligation to 1. Replace the defective part, or 2. Repair the damage to your kitchen resulting from released water, or 3. Both? If they denied just 2, it's because of a clause in their warranty in which they disclaim all liability for damage to anything other than the product itself, or what lawyers call "consequential damage". This disclaimer is very common, and almost never works in court due to some basic procedural defects in how the warranty is delivered endemic to internet sales. But, companies use it to bluff you into thinking they do not have to pay for consequential damages, and most consumers are fooled by the bluff. Kudos to you for pushing on and making them pay in the end. Most people would have given up. I wish you would tell your story to our readers by adding a comment to the bottom of our review at http://starcraftcustombuilders.com/sources.faucets.Hudson.Reed.htm. I'm certain they would appreciate it. Thanks for the insight. Comments (111)Hi Julie from Denver, I just went running on the trail here as the health club is shut down because of the Corona Virus. So I go out there and this old man told me I had better stop the jogging and this women put her hand on her hip and told me I am just showing off. Thank you for your kind post. It's overwhelming to pay all this money for a house and realize early on I have to move, sell the house, pay the big realtor fees, pay movers. But, I made a mistake and no one knows these things until they live in these places. Yes, Devorah could not attack me fast enough. She can't do the math of how old my parents would be and goes on to say my mother must have been raped at 13 and then says I am an ageist, right after I said she would blame me for what she is doing. This is the thing too, like if they hit your car, you are the bad guy somehow. If you jog, you are the bad guy. If they attack you for no reason, no matter how vile and you can see they are lying, they blame you. I think these older people in the sheltered communities where everyone is old and everyone is white, they have no ability to take responsibility for their actions. I think it is because they have been here for 20 years, they know everyone so they can simply gossip about the newcomer and control the situation. The HOA becomes a weapon people can use to mess with you. I bet I will be hearing from the HOA that it is not okay to run on the "walking" trails soon enough. Yes, I am glad I figured this out early on and I am happy to be leaving. I'm moving to an apartment in Midtown Sacramento May 5th. I'm happy to get out of here but obviously not happy to have to put the home on the market and deal with realtors and movers and all. Are you moving out of the senior community you are living in?...See MoreH. Thai Thai - well worth the long wait!
Comments (176)Hi Donna and Joey (and everyone else reading this), I miss the forum so much! It was a pleasure to take a quick peek today. I was recently in contact with Living Gardens. I'm sorry to report the news contained in these excerpts included in messages received from their representatives. 'LivingGardens.com has currently shut down operations while we undergo some organizational changes, and we will not be offering any bulb products for sale this season." "We will notify you if and when Living Gardens comes back. It will definitely not be for this season, but perhaps next. So, there won't be any 'Thai Thai' bulbs from this source. I'm happy that I received 'Thai Thai' among the "Mystery Mixed-Up" bulbs from Living Gardens last season. Hopefully there will be another supplier this season. Kind regards, Blanca...See MoreA friend needs help with an old French rose list
Comments (21)Hi all The pot was one of many suckers I potted up two springs ago. That particular one went as a wedding gift to my cousin. It's also a good example of the bare structure of the rose. I have not actually seen this particular rose growing in any of the many gardens around town, though I have by no means conducted a thorough search. (other examinations have come up with a very lovely rambler I would like to get a cutting from, as well as some antique pallida iris I wouldn't mind getting some rhizomes from, but I digress) The website I found which led to my initial identification was actually a Finnish website, which I had to translate, but which I believe was about someone discussing The Nordic Rose/Mustianruusu. They had some great pictures, and some of them could practically have been taken from my very plant- I instantly recognized the buds, sepals, and its very annoying habit of producing far more buds then ever manage to open, year after year, regardless of care. A habit I have not managed to get my plant to break either. There are always about 1/8 of the buds which yellow and die. Initially I thought there was a nutrition or insect problem, but no. It's just a very typical issue for this rose. Or at least in Europe, and according to this Finnish source it was. I will see if I can find the site, google translate is far from perfect, but it was very interesting. I try very hard to avoid like the plague the Banshee/Minette discussion, as it is very confusing, and nothing is very settled amongst the many possibilities which are out there. I am happy enough to say my rose is definitely of the Mustialanruusu type, and leave it at that :)...See Moresherrygirl zone5 N il
