How to remove sticker residue?

Thanks to everyone for the advice on laundry basics a few days ago. My newest issue is that I have a favorite work blouse that I washed and dried after forgetting that my daughter had stuck a sticker on it; a dingy white residue was left behind. I've tried laundering it several times with no improvement, other than the stickiness has dissipated. Any advice that might help me save this shirt?

You could try goo gone. But don't put the shirt in the dryer as it is flammable

Boy, that's unfortunate. Have you tried blue Dawn and a toothbrush followed by a hot soak? Goo Gone probably wouldn't hurt that fabric. But yes, wash it out in the sink afterward. Let us hear if anything works. Someone here was struggling with that sort of residue after buying a part of slacks at a wholesale club. I don't know how that got resolved. Good luck.

Take my word for it oil is the best glue remover. On wood I'd use a product like lemon oil or old english oil. On glass I use cooking oil. Saturate a soft cloth with the oil and rub over the glue. The more oil you can get on it the easier it is to penetrate the glue rub with the cloth and keep adding more oil. The oil will disolve the glue as long as nothing else was used first

I really like Goo Gone for this type of cleanup - easily available from your local hardware store. Use a cotton ball if you are sensitive to citrus, and then rub with a rag or paper towel. It may take a few tries, but it should work and will not cause any damage to your glass. Just make sure you remove any oily residue once you are done, either with glass cleaner or dish detergent. It is a good observation dadoes. I do not have an answer. Mamapinky, when I finished washing with stpp the whole room had something it did not have before. So, I know that whatever ingredient it is was definitely strong and it was not in the clothes before. I have rinsed the clothes and the washer many times - with TOL detergent, with vinegar rinsed by hand. Nothing has made the clothes or the washer back to their original form again.

If you use any of the orange oil based products like Goo-Gone, you will need to treat for the oil stain left from the Goo-Gone. I would try the Goo-Gone and follow up with some diluted Dawn and launder immediately afterwards.

Isn't Goo Gone oil based? All oil base is flammable. Matter of fact did you all realize tha cooking oil on a kitchen towel can cause a dryer fire..imagine the risk people that wash in cold water place themselves in.

I use Citra-Solve and it is probably like GooGone, Goof Off, etc.? Citra-Solve label says it is a citrus "turpene". Probably flammable. I rinse it off well before putting into washer & dryer. I have seen it dissolve some plastics, hence the warning on the label.

We use goo gone for these types of things all the time. At first I was worried that it would leave an oil stain, but nothing visible after wash.
