Comments (5)Do no use Goof Off. It is a VOC compound and besides making your home smell like chemicals, it can degrade the vinyl if it is left in contact. Goo Gone is a bit less aggressive and relies on D-limonene oils to clean the residue off. I would start with some heat and the new razor scraper first. Then clean off the residue with a frame compliant adhesive remover....See MoreCondenser unit from dryer has residue -help! & massive lint cleanup
Comments (7)The previous generation of Bosch dryers was easy to open. You just had to remove the top and then two (or so) screws on the side panel and it would come right off. The current generation has screws in the control panel or wherever that need to be removed. I therefore never tried to take the sides on my new Bosch dryer off. Lint inside the cabinet isn't too bad. At least not as bad as in a vented dryer, where it can be sucked into the open heating element or gas flame. The fire hazard with condenser dryers comes from not cleaning the filters and the condenser, which you done a great job of so far. The condenser is aluminum, so the worst thing that might happen is that it discolors from harsh chemicals - just like aluminum bottom pans discolor in the dishwasher. It won't harm it's functionality. The two-stage lint filter makes all the difference. Originally, my Bosch only had one and I eventually bought the upgraded version. Now, I only have to clean the condenser unit every couple of months. I empty the first filter after each load and the second filter once a week, when I vacuum them both. I also found out about the little door under the condenser. It's easier to get to if you remove the side panel... but I didn't. So I fiddled around in there with a bottle of water and my camera: https://youtu.be/haqBWKFtRzw Alex...See Morejannie
