I have an HP OfficeJet Pro 6960 All in one Printer set up on A Mac Computer Version Mac OS 10.12, the printer will not print in color, prints Blk. and white only, I am completely fed up with HP, no help at all. I fill out the HP form for help and get to the part where it asks for A Product No. and it will not accept the info that is listed with the Printer and will not go any further, have tryed to get a live HP Tech. on the phone with no success with that either, the Printer is only 4 months old, seems HP is only interested in selling Printer cartridges. Appreciate any help some of you may have to resolve this, I am sure it should be a fairly simple problem to solve, but not simple enough for me. Thanks for any help you are able to provide.

I would ask how often you print in color...every week?...every day? I have a pair of Officejet 4500s and I found out (to my disappointment) that the color cartridges will fail if not used regularly. Do I blame HP? Yes...but only partially. I think it's the nature of the beast with inkjets and HP isn't doing anything to improve things for the customer which might result in selling less ink. Probably their competitors aren't either. If the fates allow, hopefully my next unit will be a laser printer. I hear Brother printers are recommended.

Thanks Azinoh, I Probably print every 2 to 3 days, in color on the printer by copying, and in fact I can print an HP Demo sheet which is loaded with color, no problem. I think HP has lost me as a customer after this episode, will probably check out Brother Printers my next purchase. I appreciate this input from you.

how was this so called "optimization" done? did you use a registry cleaner product or did someone do this at a shop? If the registry was messed with it could be bad news. There is no real reason to do registry cleaning on the versions of windows from xp forward and doing so by someone that is not very very versed with the registry can lead to serious problems. I never advise the use of any registry cleaners and if you do by all means back up that registry big time before doing so. Let us know exactly what was done I see it is vista

Hey plumberry-The pantry cabs are both 29" wide (the one on the right--when facing them, is a total of 30", incl 1" filler because it butts up against wall, and the one on the left is 29"), and the center section is 33" wide. The pantries are ~18" deep (outside measurement) the micro cab is stepped back ~3" (as measured from the front of the pantry doors). FYI, they used Blum drawer glides for 15" pull-outs, which means we have 2" of "dead" space behind the pull-outs (had we known this, we might have asked them to use longer glides and hence deeper pull-outs). The upper cabs have shelves (moveable), the middle section and bottom section of the left pantry cab are all pull-outs, the bottom section of the right pantry cab has pull-outs, and the middle section has one pull-out and a couple shelves. As it is, we had them use 170Â° hinges (instead of the 110Â° hinges they'd planned) so we could have full-width pull-outs. Otherwise, they would have blocked in the sides (especially in the pantry up against the wall) so the pull-outs could clear the door. We had them make/add extra pull-outs once we had a better feel for the cabinet dimensions/space (I am so spatially challenged and have a lot of trouble really visualizing things until they are in front of me!). I also had them make a shallow height pull-out rather than a shelf for the top of the left pantry. I knew that either way I'd need to stand on a step stool to reach stuff up there (W-S Ultra-Slim 2-step stool--worth the $$!). It's much easier to reach things in the back with that pull-out than it would have been digging around for stuff on a shelf. HTH!

How old is this printer? I don't see it offered for sale by any of the regular internet sellers. Product manufacturers don't offer support forever. Inkjet printer problems are often solved by installing new cartridges, so rightly or wrongly, that might be why you got that advice.

I've switched to Brother myself! I've had my problems with HP, won't get into them now. I currently own 2 Color Laser AIO (DCP-9040cn and MFC-9440cn). I also own a Brother MFC0845cw Inkjet AIO Printer. Finally I own a Brother QL-570 Label Printer (not a hand held). I use to have a Brother HL-1440 B&W Laser Printer but sold it When I purchased the color lasers.

I will admit, I've had problems with the ink drying up, but I don't use the Inkjet very much. I don't blame Brother for this, it's my fault! I use the Color Lasers for most of my printing, only use the Inkjet on Photo Paper. I like my Photos printed better on the Inkjet w/Photo Paper better than on the Color Laser (the Color Laser does print nice photos in Plain Paper).

I've owned all of these printer over 8 years. I've had a few small problems from time to time (like paper jams), but what printers doesn't have some small problems.

Back to your Problem:
1. Many Printers have features in their Software to do B&W (usually a Checkmark in a setting). Look thru the Printer Settings and see if you can find anything like this.
2. I would try and Clean the Heads on the Cartridges. You should have some kind of Cleaning Feature in you HP Software (Brother Does).
3. If Clean the Heads doesn't work, you may have no other option than to replace the Color Cartridge.
