Guest Picks: Accessories for a Dashing Entryway
A slim table, a place for keys and a few personal touches create an entry that's both welcoming and functional

I'm always so jealous of homes with gorgeous entryways. It's a sign the rest of the house is going to be amazing too. Now that most of my new apartment is settled, I'm starting to daydream about creating a simple, cool and functional entryway. And hopefully now I'll have a place to put all of my mail, keys and spare change. — Chelsea from Lovely Indeed
A perfect way to start decorating your entry is to find a great table. I like one with a long, narrow silhouette that's functional but still beautiful.
In my house, keys and spare change are always everywhere. Maybe if I set a gorgeous dish like this in my entryway, I'd never lose my keys again!
If a tray won't cut it, how about a cool bowl? I'd love to leave my husband's mail in this Mercury basket.
An entryway is the perfect spot to leave little reminders for yourself. Snag a sweet chalkboard like this one (it's magnetic too) to do the job.
For an easy way to dress up your entryway without paint, try a wall decal. It's a cool, unexpected touch — and 100 percent noncommittal for those decor-phobes.
If a catchall table isn't your style, choose a cool bench for the entryway. This one from Anthropologie is long and slim and has a great silhouette.
For smaller spaces, a little Lucite table is an awesome choice. It won't overwhelm your entry, but it will still hold all of your goodies.
Leave a light on to welcome you home! I think a lamp on an entry table is such a cozy thing to come home to.
No room for a table lamp? Grab a couple of unusual sconces to flank your entry. These from Anthropologie have a great vintage vibe.
I love last-minute mirror checks on the way out the door. A gorgeous, round, statement mirror like this one would do the trick.
Area rugs totally pull a space together! Put a rug with a fun pattern in your entry. Just make sure it's easily washable — all that foot traffic can be messy.
I know some Seattle folks are wondering about where to put your umbrellas — get a fun umbrella stand and set it right next to your entry table.
These folding baskets from Ikea are super affordable and can house a boatload of stuff. Tuck a few under a table or bench in the entry to collect shoes, bags and more.
A bright, bold print is a happy addition to an entryway. I love this poppy print — it would be perfect above the black console table.
These little vases from Urban Home would look beautiful with or without flowers. I'd get all three because I just love things in threes.
Fill your entry table with a few beautiful knickknacks. I love the shapes of these candleholders.
I'm totally dying for these wall hooks from Ferm Living! The geometric shape is just right, and they'd be an easy way to add a little hanging space to your entry.
If the hooks just won't cut it and you need a little more hanging space, maybe a hall tree is the way to go. I like the simple lines on this one.
Include a couple of curiosities on your entry table. I love globes right now.
Don't forget a clock! Stay on time when you're running out the door, and put an awesome oversize clock in your entry.

So we have tons of storage in our entry, but only behind doors or in drawers. One wall is floor to ceiling closets, on the other side is an enormous six-drawer chest and a large round decorative mirror. Now I'm looking for the perfect table lamp that is interesting, but doesn't compete with the mirror.
