Prune peach tree now?

Corey McCain

This is my tropic beauty peach tree I planted at the end of March. It went less than 2' tall to 9'5" in its first year. I didn't know it would grow that much so I didn't prune it initially. I have been waiting to prune it this winter but as you can see it still has a fair amount of leaves though they are looking really rough and falling daily. It appears according to weather forecast that it's looking to be pretty warm the rest of January. Is it dormant enough to prune now or do you think it would react with a vegetative flush immediately? Plan on pruning it into the typical open vase shape. Wait or do it now?
