Who posted the hand glazed multicolor white subway 1/3matte 2/3gloss?

I saw a kitchen posted here several months ago with a gorgeous hand glazed backsplash that mightve been fireclay or something similar. It was white ceramic subway, but there was a lot of variation in the shades of glaze and I think they used 1/3 matte tiles and 2/3 glossy tiles. I thought that I had saved the link but now Im unable find it. Does this sound familiar to anyone? It was such a pretty backsplash, I would like to do something similar but cant remember where they got the tiles. Thanks!

Thank you so much! Barnkatz's is gorgeous but I was thinking of enzaneza's backsplash which is also listed in that thread. Looks like I'm not the only one who saw it once then couldn't get it out of my head! Thanks again, will definitely be ordering those tiles for my next project

Hi Atelier! The horus samples arrived today!! Wow are they gorgeous!!! Both DH and I loved the cristalli the most. Love the uneven lines and the gorgeous crackle. Unfortunately, the lightest of the whites isn't white enough. It's practically identical to my soft white shiloh cabinets, and i dont expect that will change even when they are up on the walls. I think we will likely go with the Horus broadway in latte. The color is perfect. Will still have to track down a Cobsa in a soft white but I think it will be hard to beat $7.50/sq ft Any other suggestions to check out? Cannot thank you enough for your help!!!

dgormish, I did use P&L Motif for my kitchen backsplash. I thought I had some earlier photos, but didn't find them. Here's a recent photo. The watercolor field tile, W78, is an almond color. It looks grayish in this picture because of the natural light this time of year in Los Angeles - "June gloom." P&L uses a different color chart for their Motif tiles than for their watercolors, so it took some effort to find a good color match between the field tile and the Motif. I had planned to include a liner between the Motif tiles and the framing tiles, but tile installer said I didn't need it. When he did the installation, he said something didn't quite line up and that he needed to add a liner. He asked if I had extra material from my countertop. So, the extra liner around the framing is Mont Blanc quartzite, from a remnant of my countertop.

Hello, just wanted to update that I did get the 2 x 6 sonoma tile in krazy krackle. After all the places in massachusetts i finally found one great tile place who offered the tile for $20sq foot and only charget $85 to ship. Funny I had gotten another quote the same day and the comp charged $198 to ship. Crazy isnt it considering it is the same tile going to the same place. Decided to get it for so many reasons but mainly because I just really love the way it looks and as mentioned spend so much time in the kitchen cooking that I think I do deserve to splurge a bit(not that the soapstone wasnt a splurge enough). I think it will look great and will fit my style so that I can add splashes of color in other ways. As mentioned about 90% of new build house has been done by internet so hope this last purchase will be as positive as the rest...look forward to showing pics soon..we have waited 10 years for this so am soooo excited. thanks so much to all that replied, Stephanie **sorry for the rambling but with twins, 4 year old, 24 first grade students, I get limited rest so go off on a tangent sometimes...sorry

Not what you are specifically referring for... but I've had this mix of flat and patterned/embossed tiles in my head for a while (its a bit different from matte vs gloss mix, but yields a similarly interesting textural variation), and this seemed like appropriate place to share it, in a thread about matt/gloss textural mixtures.

This isn't the backsplash direction we ended up following in our kitchen, (noooo... not me, I ended up with my heart set on something unique, but painfully-expensive from Walker Zanger), but it is one of the "reference" ideas we considered that still stands out to me, both for the mix of textures, and the 2-tone 2-wall effect in the publicity photo:

Cheap enough (compared to more "designer-y" tiles) that a large wall-filling installation is not stratospherically expansive?

Wow! I love those! And what fun colors too! I will use the fireclay for a backsplash I'm working on but I've ordered a sample of Merola because I think it would be great as wall tile in a (very small) bathroom I'm remodeling. I like the diagonal lines as well, it's something to consider. Thanks bemocked
