Daughters' Bedroom Needs Your Help
Comments (4)I vote for Aqua blue for the walls. The room has a lot of potential. Consider trying a new furniture arrangement. Right now the dresser is blocking the door preventing full use of the closet. The dresser is also blocking the lovely new curtains so that they don't add as much impact to the room as they could. While you have the paint brushes out maybe paint the dresser either white like in your inspiration photo or maybe another bright color taken from the curtains. The finish on the dresser has some damage to it so by painting it, you won't be "ruining" it. I hope we can see the finished 'tada' photos....See MoreMy daughters' bedroom needs help
Comments (23)Wow, you know I'm not so sure about your question regarding the chair rail. Of course typical height from what I understand is 32-36 inches depending on chair height and such, but for this situation, that's a good question. The concern I would have about putting it too much higher would be a matter of proportion and how pleasing to the eye that would be. If 36 inches is still too low, you may want to consider doing a separate thread and asking what heights other people ended up with when doing something similar. In regards to color for the rail, that is totally up to you, but I wouldn't worry about matching it to the furniture. I would want to match the rail with the trim and doors because it looks more cohesive. Glad you like the polk-a-dot idea, just keep them sparce, it won't take a lot to give it that fun look....See Moredaughters bedroom
Comments (23)A 3 year old will want a different room by the time she hits 7 or 8 and so as to avoid the cost and effort of adding/removing wallpaper, I would just paint the room in her favorite color and add interest and personality with great accessories. I also find this wallpaper too large, dark and too grown up. If you are set on wallpaper, something more subtle and youthful would be easier to decorate around down the road and trust me, it will be sooner than later - as you also have to consider lots of wear and tear....See MoreLooking for paint color for re-do of bedroom to bedroom/workout room
Comments (0)Hi, Looking for help identifying a paint color for my daughter's old bedroom as we transition it to a guest bedroom/workout room. The attached photos show what color the walls are today, which are pretty similar to the rest of the house. Sort of a light beige. I was hoping to try something different - but not so different that the room looks like it's from a different house :-) The bed and the lamp is the only furniture that has to stay, the rest is on it's way out. Planning to get an exercise bike, tv and have yoga mat (in photo). Also want to replace the window coverings and hope to find someone that can refinish the hardwood floors underneath the carpet. Also, are feature walls still a thing? Thanks for any ideas!...See Morecplover
