Daughters' Bedroom Needs Your Help

I need to pick a color or colors for my daughters' bedroom but so far my creative juices have not been flowing. Their bedding is little mismatched marvelous dots and their wall is the same color as our master bedroom which is not suitable for kids. I'll like to paint the room in two colors either two walls for each color or an accent color on one wall or two colors on each wall. It's a pretty small room about 10 X 8. Any other ideas on decorating small spaces shared by two girls 4 and 2 would be appreciated. I need to have their room painted ASAP. Thanks in advance. In the interest of full disclosure, I'm somewhat color blind so would need to see the color to know what color it is. Thanks again. See pictures below: Hope you can see the pictures. If this room was in my house, I'd be looking for a bright Tiffany blue. What a fun decorating scheme. Your daughter's must be thrilled.

If you're going the vanilla bean color, you might want to try BM Papaya. House Beautiful describes it as: "The most enduring color I've found is Benjamin Moore's Papaya, which looks like homemade vanilla ice cream with a little caramel in it. My whole apartment is Papaya! We shifted themes a little, but I am please with the way her room turned out. The walls are SW silvermist, soft enough to not scream at you when you walk down the hall, but enough color to add personality. We still have some finishing touches to do, more things to hang on the walls, and the mirror above the dresser will be hung as well. My favorite part is the message board. I found this huge framed canvas at a thrift store for six dollars, the frame is very ornate. So I covered the canvas in a pretty fabric, added twine and clothes pins. It is far from peofrssional, but we had fun doing it together. The empty spot right at her headboard will have a framed picture from her birthday party this coming weekend. I like my first idea best as far as use of space. I know people say not to put toilets on an outside wall. We had one in our last house in Iowa, but we had 2X6 construction. I don't know how high your window is, but I'm guessing the toilet would fit under there. The shower would be 5 feet long or shorter if you want a wider space to get to the toilet. (kind of tight the way I have drawn). You could do a 5 and half foot long shower and do an angled door at the left end to allow room between the shower and toilet. The vanity would be about 7 feet long, unless you do a 60 inch vanity with a linen cabinet at the door. I would reverse entry door swing if you do that.. The second top right could work and you would still have a small closet. The bottom left plan would require waterproofing your front window. Hopefully someone will give you other ideas. The bottom right plan is bigger, but no closet. Each square equals 1 foot.

Love the bedding and the pink accent items. The bedside lamp is super cute. Perhaps a valance or some curtain panels in a pink print like used in that toss pillow on the bed would add a nice touch to the window. Good luck finding some art work/pictures for the walls.

I vote for Aqua blue for the walls.

The room has a lot of potential. Consider trying a new furniture arrangement. Right now the dresser is blocking the door preventing full use of the closet. The dresser is also blocking the lovely new curtains so that they don't add as much impact to the room as they could.

While you have the paint brushes out maybe paint the dresser either white like in your inspiration photo or maybe another bright color taken from the curtains. The finish on the dresser has some damage to it so by painting it, you won't be "ruining" it.

I hope we can see the finished 'tada' photos.

Thank you all for your suggestions. Dilly dally, the double dresser will be taken out and the room will have a full bed and a nightstand on that wall. Hopefully, the curtain will show more. Unfortunately, the room is quite small and furniture arrangement is a challenge. DH absolutely refuses having a twin bunk bed in the room for fear that the 2 yr old will fall out of the top bunk. (She's a climber). We couldn't fit two twin beds in the room so it's going to be full size bed that they can both share. Their furniture is cherry wood. Thanks again.
