Normally there would be what is called a "Hard L" which is a piece of clear acrylic (plastic) which acts as a water deflector. Some people do not like these and most magazine pictures these are purposely left off for the photos but are essential if you want to keep water in, depending on the layout.

I have put laundries in kitchens, but my personal favorite is in the bedroom or near the clothes closet. I am lazy that way. Older architecture often discounted closet storage or the latest indoor plumbing of the day but favored larger rooms from which I would steal space by throwing up a wall and creating a concealed utility area. You really have to get out of the box sometimes. You also have to deal with 4x4 studs and different wall construction, but you can go crazy in the attic running utility supply wherever you wish. Drainage is another matter, and if I could not tie into existing, I have gone right out the exterior wall. Wish I could be of more service, The only out of the box Idea I can muster right now regarding that door / w/d placement is a type of hanging rolling door used on barns up in snow country. Mount the support to the ceiling and let the door slide over in front of the w/d. This is alignment not currently on the plan, and would require a slightly larger shower toward the interior of the room to catch spray and drip off the bottom of the door. Also kinda cool in that custom glass door design kinda way. The door could easily slide into something of a channel, and would work as if it were a shower curtain rather than a perimeter sealed door unit..cr lawerence has many types of glass fittings. Some drilling of the glass might be required.

@nini804 -- thanks, that was my exact thought. It may not be a big deal for us but future buyers may want a bigger master. Since my original post, I've been playing around with the layout even further. Tried a few different layouts/arrangements while keeping the sq footage within 10-15 sf of the original drawing. Attached are 3 different variations (subtle differences) of what I am leaning towards -- again different from the original post. Would like to hear any thoughts/feedback... - First Picture: A couple of 3' openings (no doors) from bedroom to walk-in-closet (WIC). With WIC opened up, all clothing/storage will be behind PAX or some sort of cabinet / doors. NOTE: a variation of this plan could be provide sliding doors for the openings (instead of no-door) and this way all of the cabinets do not have to be covered with PAX/cabinetry. Still exploring my options. - Second Picture: Almost identical as the first picture -- except, WIC is opened up to the bedroom with no doors/wall. WIC & bedroom are separated with an island. This may be a bit dramatic -- making the master suite feel even bigger than it already is. It may also provide a great flow. With this option, ALL clothing/shelving will have to have PAX/cabinetry on it. - Third Picture: Bathroom door is from the bedroom, instead of the closet. ^^ This allows me to gain 3' of extra closet space. I am showing an entry door to the closet but similar to First/Second picture, I may have a couple of openings or no door/wall and just open up the entire area to the bedroom. Thoughts / feedback?

Unfortunately, like most posts, all the information is not provided sufficient enough to provide proper advice. In the layout I suggested the tub may be flooded with light and have ventilation enough to feel like you are bathing outside, but without a site plan we do not know if the windows face a northerly direction or what floor it is on or if the bleachers are filled and popcorn sold every time you take a bath. One of the benefits of working with a local architect is that they can gather the information needed to create a proper design without having to extract the needed information like pulling a tooth.
