Big Breakfast Time on Wednesday!

I am having a big breakfast this morning, sausage patties, bacon, and fried baked potatoes, onions and oregano and scrambled eggs. Grapefruit juice to drink. Usually my breakfast is bigger than my supper. It works for me. What are you having this morning?

Breakfast is normally my big meal of the day too. However this morning I'm just having two poached eggs and toast.

Fried baked potatoes or even mashed potato cakes are so good for breakfast. I keep a bag of the frozen diced potatoes O'Brien in the freezer for when I get the hankering for those.

Considering it's the day after the election I woludn't be surprised if some were having humble pie this morning.

I think I will be reaching peak bloom pretty soon. If the rain today (and we are supposed to have rain the next couple of days) does what the last shower did for blooming, they will be outdoing themselves. Thanks Julia, I am looking forward to your blooms. Jean you are always so upbeat about the blooms. Thank you. Mantis, Please Say Yes is splotchy if I don't spray for thrips. Otherwise, it isn't. but thrips do like it. Cosmic Traveler did well last year too. I had unprecedented re-bloom last year, but don't expect as much this year. Who knows? Oktoberfest is this weekend, and I didn't want to fight traffic (it's right by the Titans stadium and Miami may be here instead due to Matthew), so we went to Gerst Haus! Jägerschnitzel in hunter's sauce and German potato salad, applesauce, and pumpernickel. Of course, with Gerst Haus beer. Well, the boy didn't have beer. But I did. And lots of polka music. I wished I wasn't wishing. Back when Gerst Haus was in its old location, we'd go and listen to Mongo play with his band. He always asked the ladies to polka with him, and because I didn't know how, I said no. I wished I had. Miss Mongo!

Angelaid, Thank You for the detailed directions on how you cooked your chicken. Sounds yummy. I am roasting a chicken today, but I'm not stuffing it. I'll make stuffing on the side. I showed my grandsons whom I'm raising a pic of your chicken dinner yesterday and ask what they wanted for Fridays dinner, they hoth pointed to your dinner and said....THAT...LOL. Its a cold, rainy day here so using the oven and having comfort foods will be great. Thank You.

My breakfast meals are either an oat bran muffin, or oatmeal (either steel cut or old fashioned), or almond butter on a rice cake, or Alpen with milk, or soudough waffles. Sometimes I will sneak in a bagel with cream cheese. I have no imagination when it comes to breakfast and I really don't care for eggs.

I love a big breakfast but it doesn't happen very often for me unless we go out on a weekend day. I had my overnight oatmeal with fruit. And when I got to work one guy had brought Election Victory Brownies (his wife makes THE BEST brownies!). So of course I had to have one of those with my coffee.

Sometimes I'll fix an egg sandwich or scrambled eggs w/toast for breakfast but usually I eat leftovers. This morning I had a big bowl of chicken vegetable barley soup and a glass of milk.

I have recently rediscovered Post's slivered almonds and cranberry cereal. It is a favorite, so I had a bowl of that with my tea.
