Floor stain color help please- coffee brown?
Comments (9)We just had wood flooring put in last spring and I chose the coffee stain. I love it so much that it isn't even healthy! I will try to post a picture for you tomorrow. We chose rift and quartersawn white oak, and it is gorgeous. I usually find something to be critical about when I buy/install something in my house, but this time I have no regrets AT ALL. We had the flooring company do the water pop to show the grain more, and it's perfect. And believe me, I never, ever say anything is perfect. :) Victoria...See MoreNeed help with a stain on red oak floors please.
Comments (2)My recollection of Provincial is that it isn't particularly amber or red. To counteract the redness of the wood, use a stain with more of a greenish tone. Perhaps DuraSeal Coffee Brown would be more to your liking but you'd probably need to add neutral to avoid it being too dark....See MoreNeed help with stain for red oak floors please.
Comments (3)We used a Puritan Pine and Provincial mix on Red Oak. Floors downstairs are golden toned, but the floors upstairs appear darker...lighting? I love them! Like the downstairs, too. Hides dirt, scratches from dog, etc.....See MoreHardwood floor stain - please help me choose (PICTURES)
Comments (27)Here's the final result with #3 (50% classic gray and 50% weathered oak). The pictures vary depending on the angle/lighting and may not do it justice, it looks great to us, nice neutral grey/brown color that isn't too dark (or too light). Some "pink" hues may just barely show from the red oak but it's only after I analyzed the pictures on my computer that this occurred to me, in real life it's not something we personally see. Thanks for everyone's input....See MoreLindsy
