Duraseal Coffee Brown stain?
Comments (1)Depending on the species of hardwood, this should run a "dark mid-tone". It will be a shade or two lighter than a "dark floor". If you want away from dark, this may be too dark for you. If you want a little darker than "mid-tone" than this is the colour for you. With this stain, I would want to see HUGE amounts of light (both natural and artificial) in almost any situation. Without LOTS OF LIGHT...this floor will get very dark very quickly. Please ensure your flooring professional has put down a single coat of finish (don't base a decision off of raw stain...it is never a good way to go about this). Photos of your space and the sample stains would REALLY help....See Morefloor stain help please!
Comments (10)These very dark brown colors are very "in" right now so I'm not surprised that he is using a lot of that color. I'm afraid they are trendy. We just sold our house and the new owner had the floors redone in a very dark color from the Early American that we had used. there has to be a happy medium. Not so golden but not so dark. first, find out what brand he uses so you know what choices you should choose from. If it's Duraseal (or Minwax), then pick four or five colors you like and have him apply those colors as samples in your home. then you can make a rational choice....See MorePLEASE HELP with red oak floor stain - thanks so much!

Comments (1)Use a mix of Espresso (3:4) and Jacobean (1:4). It will be super dark and the Jacobean will keep the red in the red oak under wraps. The Jacobean will also prevent the treads from looking like they are painted black. Where are the red oak treads?...See MoreUser
