I'd hang one hook per person and put their names on them. Yes. A little juvenile but they're acting as such by not hanging towels on their own. If hooks is the problem, then hanging extras removes the excuse.

Over the door towel racks. Hooks don't allow for drying all that well.

I use use bath hooks with bath sheets. They dry in a few hours. I run a vent fan with my showers. I prefer hooks. Easier to hang towels than a rack for most people.

I find folded towels take too long for children and DH to fold and hang and then if I hang they take longer to dry than when I use hooks. Kids and DH always rehook their towels now but when I had only towel bars they left their towels in heaps. I love hooks!

In humid Houston bars would be better than hooks for drying. But as empty nesters we just drape over shower and run fan for a bit. However we don't have OPs problem of more than 2 people using bathroom and perhaps not being as cooperative as they should

Also, quick-dry towels help a lot when hanging or drying.

Hang them on hangers in the laundry.

I think the biggest issue is that it takes so long for anything wet to dry in that bathroom. It's small and in the summer it gets humid. A towel/ cloth won't be completely dry and another wet one gets hung over it. In our bath which is larger and doesn't get as much use it seems stuff drys a little faster. We do use fans in both baths and open windows as weather permits but no A/C.

We also put laundry from the kitchen in that small bathroom which adds to the situation.

Sounds like we are split on which drys better, hooks or bars. I was thinking of adding more hooks to the room but maybe bars like shown above would be better.

Going to label the hooks and remind them to wring out wash cloths tightly before hanging.

I think their own hooks would probably get used more, but think you should add their own hamper and their own laundry duty.

Frankly, I'd not want to deal with this issue after that!

I buy the washcloths from ikea that have loops on them. near the top of the shower stall I have put a few command hooks to hang used/wet cloths on to dry.

We have s good exhaust fan that is on s timer, so that might help. When I get out of the shower I restart the 30 min fan setting.

regarding towels... you might consider quicker drying Turkish towels (?) I've read about them. I'll look up a source.

benjesbride, the command strips are a great idea! My daughter says there just isn't enough hooks/spaces to hang cloths.

I just went in there and towels from this morning are still damp : (

I will certainly consider quicker drying towels next time I buy them.
