Okay Viking, you've got me going now...
Comments (10)Oh floral paint... I have a (pro) florist friend who is BONKERS for floral paint. At least he was during school when he had unlimited access to it! The staff at the school still talk about it! Does it lose that beautiful flowy appearance when you use paint on it? I love making wreathes with the leaf stalks, and it would be great to incorporate the blooms as well! I planted little thumb sized clumps three years ago and now they're 2 feet across and the tallest blooms are about 8 feet tall! I'm in love with that grass, can't wait to see it get BIGGER! Thanks! For both the inspiration and ideas!...See MoreHAVE: O.K. you guys! We've got seeds! Let's trade!
Comments (9)mr. chokeheart im guessing your friends call you "mya".. i am interested in finding some s. divinorum seedstock(or clones, if you are in my area).. might you be able to accomidate me?? i have no salvia seedstock to trade to you, BUT, i do possess seedstock from a "companion" plant that will repel spider mites and aphids, within about a 12 foot radius(small plant), and also have some good quality indica strains(seedstock) for trade.. thanks for your time, kip.. jeff...See MoreSquash guy having trouble with tomatoes for the first time...
Comments (2)I have done some more research and have come to the conclusion that it is definitely herbicide contamination. I put 6 inches of mostly composted manure and stall sweepings on top of that bed in February so that excess urea salts could be washed out with the spring rains. Specifically, aminopyralid or another similar compound I suspect is the culprit. Apparently they are having nightmarish problems with it in the UK. Thank goodness I have not spread any of it on my largest bed. At least I might be able to grow a few things in it. From what I have read, the chemical is broken down primarily by bacteria in the soil... which is why folks who have top dressed with contaminated material are having worse problems. Indeed, in my case, where I tilled the composted manure in, there are little to no effects visible. However, the tomato bed is one that I top dressed. SIGH... Please tell anyone you come across to be suspect of any manure from animals fed hay that was bought or shipped... or hay from unknown origin. The websites and posts I have come across are saying not to eat any produce from plots that are contaminated for at least 1 year....See MoreKitchen 98% done and now floor guy screwup. What now?
Comments (7)Murpharoo, I feel your pain! Just went through a similar experience. The patch to correct method made our problem worse. We had a new hardwood floor installed in the kitchen and had the rest of the floors sanded and stained. The quality was poor. The floor guy agreed and tried to resolve the issue by sanding a few of the boards then rebuffing and putting a coat of water based poly over oil based. He said it was a top of the line water based poly and could be done. It ended up looking bad & could see slight peeling. In retrospect we should have had him resand it all the first time. Good luck....See Morewispymistyteacup
